Telangana 78: Democracy or Dictatorship?

The Telangana activist who sent me the link to this video writes:

If this video doesn't move you, then nothing will. Watch how dozens of Paramilitary forces encircle an Ambulance near OU and drag out two teenaged kids, who were already injured. They then brutally assault these kids.

Is this democracy or dictatorship?

Let’s not tolerate this kind of oppression. Get ready for the final "March For Telangana"

58 comments:

  1. This time it should be "Tahrir square" style, lakhs of protesters should Camp in the Middle of the City, like TankBund and Stay there Until Telangana state is Achieved.

Instead of debating people like "sujai" should start an Online campaign for the Dday, Innovative posters, Novel protests and Start a twitter Feed

  5. Think Telangana people from Outskirts of Hyd should be Mobilsed it would be then difficult for the govt to block them rather than blocking people from Norhtern telangana On route.

  6. Hyd's commissioner has Ordered all licensed firearms to be Surrendered before March 5th, May be city police is gearing Up for the "D day".

People Should bring along Camping equipment like Blankets,Tents and should cook on stoves on Road, People should Buy Spray paint Cans and fill the walls of Hyd with Telangana grafitti, Portable public adress systemes like Bull horns will be gud and Projectors with Screens should be Put on For Night entertainment.

Got one more Idea, why dont a small group of Telangana protestors go over to Bhudda Statue in middle of Hussainsagar and Put up banners, it would be Dramatic.

  7. <<RAIL ROKO on March 1st for 12hrs.(6am to 6pm).

    That sounds too lame.
Protests should be Spontaneous, protesters need Direction but Not Micro management from the politburo like JAC.

  8. My prediction is that the govt cannot affor the Coming general Strike by T employees and certainly not the Egypt style protests so , Central govt will be making a Anouncement on Telangana, should whether that would be enough to Placate the Protestors

  9. Ap govt is in Catch 22 situation, it can try strong arm Tactics to block no-coperation by T-employees by Witholding their Salaries on March 1st, but if it does it could further complicate the situation as Inter exams are scheduled on March 12th it would need the co-operation of the entire administration for smooth handling, but it think the andhra govt has no qualms about gambling with 18lakh Students lives.

The govt can recover registration and sales taxes at a later date but the excise revenues from liquor cannot be recovered .

Kondaram should go Gujjar Mode and ecnourage T-people to remove Railway fish plates, not stupid 12 hour rail rokhos.

  13. Sujai,

The videos u r showing r not unique nor any more gruesome than Kashmir separatists training kids to perform suicide acts. You cannot take few incidents and talk about 'democracy'. If not democracy, TRS thugs would not go around destroying APSEB property, public transport systems, MLAs, movie stars etc. at will without getting punished.

These kids and adults around them encouraged them to fight police and law, while they themselves are sitting in safe confines of Bangalore, Hyderabad etc. I can show u hundreds of children IN telangana, exploited as child labour by NATIVE telanganites. Is it less gruesome than what u have shown? How about forced prostitution and beggars. Are their sufferings less important than these idiots who are being instigated by educated adults? It is easy to slam and denigrate 'Indian democracy' because you can say it, destroy public property and still not get arrested, unlike in China.

    ReplyDelete
  14. What despicable 'movement' will use such kids as human shields to give human face to their movement? How is Raj news more interested in shooting the video than saving this kid? Where are KCR, KTR and Sujai the adults who need to be at the forefront, instead of using children as shields?

  16. @Sujai,
"So you are saying that since such events happen elsewhere it is OK to go ahead and hit young boys the way it is shown in the video?"

The police have been deployed to make sure things don't go out of control. They have to follow the orders to maintain law and order. There are more gruesome things happening in Telangana which does not have anything to do with this issue and why are they being ignored by you?

Did you ask why this young kid got caught and NO T supporters nor politicians came to his rescue?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Aravind:

There are more gruesome things happening in Telangana which does not have anything to do with this issue and why are they being ignored by you?

It is such stupid question to ask.

I could ask you in the similar vein: There are so many important things happening in the world than this agitation, so what are you doing wasting your time hanging around on my blog? Why don't you to take a plane, fly to Somalia, and feed the hungry kids instead of whiling away your time writing comments on this blog?

That is only to make a point. Almost every movement and cause can be reduced to nonsense by citing something more important. While we fight for Telangana some other people are figthing other 'gruesome' incidents within Telangana. Some want to save Dolphins, and some want to reduce CO2 emissions. You don't go those who want save Dolphins and ask, 'Hey, why are you not fighting to reduce CO2?'.

Right now, we are fighting for Telangana. When we are done, we will fight for other worthwhile causes and it will be none of your business. If you are so concerned you are free to fight against other 'gruesome things happening in Telangana'.

You are the epitome of blatant educated stupid...

I am sure you are aware of the fact that the kind of attacks happen on the students in OU.

When PSRAnjaneyulu..the fucker IPS led his team into OU and disconnected electricity and started
charging the students who were holding a rally..
Learning this when 200 girls came out and they went towards arts college..Police caught hold of around 40 girls
and started hitting on their private parts..

And the idiots like you come and say those kind of things are happening around the world..nothing new in it..

I hope you get a real bashing on your back then realise how different these atrocities..

    Get well soon...!

  19. It is far far easier to get T if all this energy, money and time is spent in forcing the MPs to resign. next day T will be formed. Hyd can be capital for 10 years , during which time AP can make its capital.

Yet....a question...a person born in AP was born in this state. he was not born in Madras or Hyderabad state and 'forced' to become a resident of AP. For such a person hios capital is Hyderabad........

  20. Andhras can have a shared capital, but they wont be allowed to Assembly, they can have their assembly in Hitech city or some conference room, they should be kicked out of secreteraiat, they can Stay if they pay Rent to Telangana govt, same goes tor Rajbhavan and all other Offices.

and the first thing after TG forms is to Reclaim the Wakf land occupied by Settler goons and the 2 lakh crore worth land in Hyd illegally occupied by Andhras and also their housing societies in Banjarra hills and Jubilee hills, they can go and live in the Vijaywada kampu.

  21. TG,

Then T will never be formed. Mark my words.

Also, T is not going to be a separate country to have its own constitution. You cannot take away houses etc. your grandfather did not earn them. Please use words properly else you will lose the support of nuetral people like us.

    ReplyDelete
  22. TG,

It is a shame and a disgrace to T people that you exist. What is wakf land that you want to reclaim? It is the land of the poor people of Telangana that was forcibly grabbed by the nizam and his goons. this land is the reflection of the blood, sweat and tears of the people that the jagirdars forcibly claimed as their own. these jagirdars did not have a right to alienate this land thru donations to the wakf. The land was never their in the first place. it was the people's land. in the case of the manikonda jagir, the judge very clearly stated that there is evidence that the lands was given to wakf because the govt was abolishing the jagirs and inams. don't you dare take the side of those people who destroyed this land for more than 400 years and sucked the blood of the people of this region.

First of all f..k Neutral people like you, I know these BJP saffron guys are taking advantage of Telangana movement and are trying to write some Alternate history for Hyderabad.

First of all they claim that Hindus built Bhagayanagar and bullshit, the fact is that it was the Persian Cultural and architectural rennaisance brought in by Nizams that made Hyderabads legacy to be what it is today, I agree Nizams were Autocrats and arseholes , so was the Indian Union which Putdown a successful Peasent Uprising in Telangana and Rolled back the land Reforms that were achieved in that short period of Revolution, and it Contributed to this whole "Andhra" problem.
Even Today Iran, modern day Persia contributes Millions of Dollars towards the Upkeep of Hyderabads heritage while ASI doesnothing and encourages golfcourses on Sensitive archaelogical sites like Golconda.

I know that both these BJP and MIM guys take advantage of youths living in Gullies without basic amenities and tap their Frustration in to a relegious frenzy, while Congress plays Pseudo-secular
    communal politics.

First of all wakf land is not ceased from some peasents like how Seemandhra guys are doing now( estimates are that they occupy lands worth more than 3lakh crore within Hyd, in the name of Front companies), Large tracts of todays Hyd was then Unpopulated and Forested so I dont think Nizam didnt grab the land for Wakf unlike how the present State and Central govt are doing for SEZ's in Hyd's outskirts or in North Telangana like Sompet for the greed of few Coastal Andhra Pigs like ,Sambasivaraos,----Patis and Nenis

  28. It was really disgusting to see this clip. And the so called honest commissioner of police( who by the way is a land grabber too) was so upset, saying that no channel should air such kind of incidents. Why are we so concerned about Andhras reaction? We should organise ourselves to drive out the Andhra govt. from TG, rather than wait for Sonia to liberate us. Are we slaves? we should change our mind set, just force the govt. to flee from Telangana, and not be bothered of how the Indian govt. and rest of the country reacts. That will be a big slap to the Indian govt. for violating our rights and for the rest of the country for not being bothered about us. The creation of Telangana will surely create an earth quake in our country, like the Mandal commission.
Today, I was on way to Karimnagar, and was shocked to see huge pipelines being laid to bring Godavari water to Hyderabad. The govt. and Andhras have a convenient explanation, that its prohibitively expensive to cultivate lands in Telangana as they are at higher reaches. How come they are bringing water to Hyderabad which is much more higher? Am from Hyderabad, but cant understand the indifference of the people of Telangana to this kind of injustice. No doubt we are fighting which is a big improvement for people who were suppressed for hundred's of years, but I think we need to intensify with more force. We should forget about time frames and deadlines. It adds more to frustration, but be ready for a long haul of agitation. I feel the recent non co-operation was a huge success. Am looking forward to the new round of fight. My only complaint is, the leaders should ask people to come in large numbers, and forget about saying that 10 lakh people will participate. Last time the police were successful in preventing people from coming to Hyderabad. Even 50000 is a huge success, especially if they are around Secreteraite, assembly and the Police office. Just dont allow them to function.

  29. TG,

Sompeta is not in north Telangana. It is in Srikakulam.

Nenis are not from SA. Karimnagar people also have .....neni as their surname.

Before you comment on Jagir and wakf land, please read the judgement in two caes -- one involving wakf and manikonda jagir ( microsoft, oracle, ubs, .....etc). The other involving wakf and Miyapur village. the wakf claims the entire land under miyapur village as wakf because some nawab is supposed to have donated the village and its 10000 ac to the wakf. the documents proved otherwise anyway.
i will try to post the link from the court web site.

If T is formed it is not going to be your grandfather's property. It will be a part of India and the constitution will apply. Unless of course you are one of the maoists who are hoping to achieve their bigger goal thru this movement.

Interesting to know what the HC judge will do after reading the entire report by duggal. the hearing is soon.

When I last checked our constitution, the duty of the police is not to use force when situation is under control and should not manhandle any one when it is not necessary, and if required they can file a case on individuals for breaking law. Attacking an individual brutally is considered as breaking law.

In that video it can be easly observed those kids are helpless and it is completely anti-constitution to kick them so badly by 30-40 police.

For your argument sake we assume these kids broke the law, so
What our beloved constitution says in this situation is police should not manhandle an individual who broke the law and not resisting or attacking the police when police trying to arrest them.

I think SA version of Constitution says this how democracy works.

Looks like there is no end of our DGP's evil, when he ordered to fire same rubber bullets on TG agitators, he said these bullets are not life threatening. This proves he intentionally used killing bullets on TG people and he knows these bullets can kill if you use in particular way, and same time he can escape from such kills by saying he only used rubber bullets. 50. The losers in the middle of all this are not the protest organizers or the politicians - it's the common people like laborers, maids, poor salaried employees etc. who have to travel by cheap modes of transport like the mmts etc. Why harrass the common man/woman? If it is the government or the politicians you are against, why not target them directly without murdering or physically hurting anyone? Why is it that it is always the powerless or weak people who have to suffer? All the politicians are hardly affected by these movements because they are already probably rich and corrupt enough to afford living comfortably inspite of these strikes. It is the common people who suffer. My maid hasn't been able to make it to our house today because she uses the mmts and the trains have been cancelled. Imagine how many peoples lives have been disrupted due to the blockade or cancellation of trains and it's not the politicians or people responsible for today's plight who travel by trains like these. Why don't you try some other methods which does not hurt common people?
    Thanks for listening.
