Telangana 47: On People’s Movements

I believe that a people’s movement should have three set of activities- those that appeal to Insiders, those that appeal to Outsiders, and those that compel the authorities.

Appeal to Insiders:

Every people’s movement has a set of ideologues, a set of leaders, a set of organizers, a set of agitators (foot soldiers) and a huge set of sympathizers.   To create a large support base of new leaders, organizers and supporters, the movement should involve educating the people, winning over them, telling them why they need to come out and fight.  Most Indians naively think that if a movement is really genuine then there should be no need for such education.

Even the great Indian Independence Movement did not come about in a day.  It had to win many sections of its people to come and fight.  To start with, most Indians did not know what freedom meant.  To change their attitude from being a ‘subject of a king’ to a ‘citizen with rights’ took lot of education and time.  That movement involved books, pamphlets, speeches, and many participatory activities that rallied people into its fold.  Gandhi’s Dandi March, Khilafat Movement et al were all those activities that were launched to win the local support for the people’s cause.  It involved embracing all sections of society, lower castes, Muslims, Sikhs, women, North Indians, South Indians, etc.  Even the French Revolution and Russian Revolution had to appeal to the local people for their support.  Martin Luther King Jr. and his predecessors had to go educate their people on why they should not live like slaves or second-class citizens anymore.

Right now, Telangana Movement is doing a great job on appealing towards insiders. Most of their current activities are geared towards this.   It has been educating its masses for a very long time now, with books, pamphlets, CDs, MP3s, etc.  It is educating them on the various issues like the discrimination and marginalization in the state of Andhra Pradesh.   It has been conducting various programs like Dhoom-Dham, Vanta-Varpu, songs and dances, and many other innovative activities to win the support of the local people.  The speeches by leaders, students, organizers have rallied people into the cause.

Through these activities Telanganas going through mode of cultural revivalism, a renaissance, where the culture of Telangana is celebrated, no longer curbed or suppressed.  They are no longer ashamed or embarrassed of being Telangana.

Their peaceful agitations appeal to Telangana people to come out and support in large numbers. Telangana Movement stands as a people’s movements because we have succeeded in rallying our own people to the cause.  The movement has recently embraced Muslims into the fold as well.  However, there are still some pending items- like embracing some of the leaders of lower castes which it alienated recently.

Appeal to Outsiders:

A people’s movement should also appeal to the outsiders to win their support and sympathy.  Even the greatest of the people’s movement do not easily win support from all observers.  Even at the heyday of Gandhi’s nonviolent movement, observers across the world dismissed him as a crafty Hindu politician who was bent on usurping power.  In retrospect, it is easy for us to remember only the plaudits while conveniently forgetting the derisions.  It took lot of time before Gandhi’s methods were universally acclaimed.

Some of Gandhi’s actions were so innovative and so bold that the world had to stop to wonder what this tiny man was doing.  How could he take on the mighty British Empire by avoiding paltry tax on salt?  How could he overcome their powerful armies with his nonviolent foot soldiers?  Each of his actions caused awe and wonder amongst the outsiders and their media started to write about his exploits.  That was how he sold himself off to the West.  He appealed to their nicer side.  The Christian women and gentile could not help but sympathize with his Christ-like methods.

Unfortunately for Telangana, all their peaceful agitations earn respect from Telangana people only.  The outsiders are completely dismissive or ignorant about them.   We are not doing a great job in selling our story to the outside world.   The world continues to see this as KCR/TRS manufactured issue.  The world continues to think of it as an idea of few petty politicians, out to grab Hyderabad, and nothing else.

We are using our activities to make a point.  For example, between February 1 and 7 there were seven big events planned, none of which got reported in national media, forget international media.   Instead of having so many events, we could have focused all our energies to organize one single but a mega event so that the world reckons our movement.  A Telangana leader said in one of his speeches: Manaku Tondara Ekkuva (We do things in haste).

Going forward, an organizing body should be formed under JAC which plans and schedules all events in Telangana, which come once in a month or so, but which come with great preparation, not only in mobilizing people but also in educating the world about the event.   Envoys and emissaries have to be sent to all concerned sections outside Telangana to educate them of our movement.  The media needs to be educated so that they sympathize with our cause.  Without this, the world will continue to dismiss our movement.

Compelling the Authority:

No peaceful or nonviolent people’s movement will bring in desired change unless it is equipped with teeth that can bite.  No matter how much your appeal to insiders or outsiders, unless you can actually force the authority to decide on your cause you are not making any progress.   Activities have to be planned in such a way that the authority actually feels the pain – however insignificant or small it is.  Gandhi’s boycott of British clothes actually made a dent in the mills of England.  Even the most peaceful and nonviolent movements have to carry an element of civil disobedience to compel the authority into bringing the desired change.

Right now, our detractors pooh-pooh our peaceful movement, rightly so.  It does not have an element of ‘compelling the authority’ in it.   None of Telangana agitation activities were geared towards that direction. Rioting on the streets is only going to bring in more derision and appropriation against our movement.  Instead, an activity has to be carefully planned in such a way that it looks respectable and yet pinches.

We have one of the greatest people’s movements headed by the most spineless leaders.  That’s unfortunate.  Our leaders are still thinking petty, trying to be on the wall, taking a neutral stand.  They are thinking of their positions in front of their Babu or in front of their Madam.  They are not thinking like real people’s leaders.  They are not even ready to resign which is one of the best ways to compel the authority in the current context.

There is a need to create an organ under JAC which plans the civil disobedience activities in a phased manner, carefully orchestrated so that it does not go violent, which actually forces the authorities to take heed, pay attention and thereby accede to our demands.

I completely agree with you that Telanganites deserve a separate state with Hyderabad as its capital. I also take your word that it is genuine peoples movement. But the way the OU students and political leaders of Telangana are creating a demonic impression about all Seema and Andhra people is sad and in the long run it will create ill will among people on both sides.

Further your drawing parallell between freedom movement and Telangana movement can be good upto a certain extent. But it should not be carried up till the way Indian partition went and its aftermath. Several Muslims and Hindus were killed and butchered on both sides of the border during partition. A separate state is a legitimate right and to achieve that creating enmity among people may lead to unwanted violence. I hope no bloodshed takes place at the state separation time. NDTV today reported that seema and Andhra people have already started leaving telagana and migrating back to their ancestral regions. One abandons one's livelihood only if that persons life and limb is threatened. I think T agitation has reached the stage of threatening non-mulkis. I think the next stage in T agitation will be action in place of threats.

Now coming to Hyderabad, it was a foreign country/City under Nizam within India during pre-independance days. During partition Nizam wanted Hyderabad state (including T) to join Pakistan and as it was not practical Britishers could not fulfil his wish. During State reorganization the mistake was to include telangana in AP on the basis of language. In those days in Hyderabad people were talking in Urdu sprinkled with Telugu words and in telangana they were talking telugu sprinkled with Urdu. Further there was and is no cultural affinity among the people of A and T. In one region marriage or festival means hard drinks and muton, where as in the other the exact opposite. Even until 70s and 80s dominating language in H was Urdu and people talking in Telugu were laughed at and were used to be called langaa gaallu. The mistake done in 50s was to shift the capital from Kurnool to Hyderabad. The second mistake was so many greedy people from Seema and Andhra went and started their businesses in H. Some filmiwalas from Chennai also migrated to Hyderabad to grab land in the name of studios. In the third wave many greedy NRIs from seema and andhra bought house sites and apartments in Hyderabad instead of investing in their own native places. All these people will be thrown out from Hyderabad once Telangana is separated and they really deserve such ouster for neglecting their own regions out of commercial greed. The lesson to be learnt is Hyderabad is never for Telugu or telugu culture. So better late than never. Whether T is separated or not H will prove dangerous for non-mulkis (settlers) from S&A in the near future, especially for the poor and working class people who can not buy protection.

Secondly it is well known fact that there are several sleeper cells working for Pakistani terror organizations in the region. With the present state of lawlessness these sleeper cells will be awake to implement terror plots nationwide. The longer the agitation for T these Jihadi terrorists will have all that time to create havoc in AP as well as in neighboring states. So it is better to award T at least to keep these jihadi elements in check, if not for anything else.

  13. @non-mulki,

Without taking a firm decision on Telangana the andhra lobby and centre is dragging the issue for too long. It is not fair to go back on the Dec 9th statement. Even normal and sensible people will get aggravated and extremism will increase in this environment. It is important for the centre to get all parties to table and talk about real issues with separation than setting up committees and dragging the issue furthur. Andhra lobby should stop the "United Andhra" drama and talk about their real concerns about separation.

It was a good that andhra state separated from madras state. Otherwise the consequences would have been worse.

Separation should not lead to one party taking credit over other. At the end of everything peace should prevail.

  14. Sujai bhai,

My suggestion would be to mobilize people and surround Assembly. Even if you mobilize 1 lakh people and make them surround assembly and not allow any MLA or CM to enter assembly. This would be be just non-violent gathering of people and we can eat, drink, dhoom-dhaam in front of assembly which would definetely ignite the spark at centre. Let people surround assembly for atleast 2-3 days untill centre takes some stand. You have done that just as you did for Human Chain. You can do this again.

To conclude, OUR TELANGANA MLAs ARE THE GREATEST BASTARDS OF INDIA.

Even if you can mobilize 1 lakh people and make them surround assembly for 2-3 days and not allow any MLA or CM to enter/come out of assembly premises, that would serve the purpose. There should not be any propaganda for this. JUST MOBILIZE AND DEPLOY PEOPLE. This would be be just a non-violent gathering of people and they can eat, drink, dhoom-dhaam in front of assembly which would definetely ignite the spark at centre. Let people surround assembly for atleast 2-3 days untill centre takes some stand. You have done that before for longest Human Chain in India. You can do this again.

Time and again bcos of the leaders are we cheated . no wonder they never fighted for anything Telangana. We have been loosing our vital resources and they just stood there licking up the leaders shoes to retain their own positions.

I think we should have a provision in constitution to recall the representatives if majority of the people think they are not representing the true aspirations of the people.

Hopefully this will be our freedom movement which will bubble good leaders to top.

I do not know how to create account here ...my name is Sreedhar.

I do not know much about Ukranian Orange movement. But mobilizing people to surround assembly would definetly serve the purpose.

This time with common people/civilians not necessarily students only.

Remember, there should not be any propaganda for this and no one should go for any police permission etc etc. Otherwise they will never allow this to happen.

we have to communicate with people though SMSs or emails or phones and spread our word. Decide one day for the mass mobilization. people can come before that and stay in their relatives or friends houses etc show up all of a sudden in front of assembly one fine day.

    Sujai bhai....please give a thought.

  19. @Telkinder and @Anonymous

The Dec 10th Chalo Assembly was exactly the same kind of event planned. Hence the Union Govt finally budged on the night of 9th Dec and announced the creation of the Telangana state. Most people seem to have either forgotten that or are inaccurately attributing it to KCR's fast.

But the way the State Govt is suppressing this movement, it is almost impossible to get the permission for such a mass movement. We need to approach the High Court and get the necessary legal permissions for the event.

Let us all prevail and show the powers that be that our will is unbending. We will achieve our Telangana! Jai Telangana!

    Criminalising political stir

    R Uma MaheshwariFirst Published : 17 Feb 2010 12:40:00 AM ISTLast Updated : 17 Feb 2010 04:56:04 AM IST

The police forces took on the students of the Osmania University on Valentine’s Day. The policemen broke streetlights and cornered students with their weapons — lathis, teargas shells and rubber bullets — when they had taken out a rally in support of MLAs who had resigned on the Telangana issue. Was use of such brutal force called for on the unarmed students? Even if the students had indulged in stone-throwing. Perhaps everyone realises stones and lathis cannot mean one and the same. Students faced the fullest fury of the police on that Sunday. Even women were beaten up with rifle butts, lathis and rubber bullets, and if that was not enough, the choicest abuses were hurled at them; their dupattas and hair pulled. Sensitive organs were injured. This was police repression at its worst Hyderabad has seen in recent times.

Not in our entire student life in the prestigious JNU in Delhi did we face such police brutality. On hindsight I now feel that protest for us is JNU was not merely a birthright, but a privilege. Osmania University, on the other hand, is a different ball game altogether. The nature of abuse, and repression, here comes in a context that should not be forgotten. Many of the students are first generation learners, and come from some of the poorest villages in a state.

    ReplyDelete

  23. Forget students. A tea-kiosk owner, Sudhakar, used to serve cups and cups of tea to the same policemen (from the CRPF) who mercilessly beat him up and if that was not enough, burnt his motorbike. Sudhakar has been earning his living selling chai, coffee and bread omelette for the last 20 years. He is from Neredigunta village in Medak district.

With the campus fenced at both the entrances with barbed wire, students had justifiably started to use the term ‘border ivatala’, ‘border avatala’ (this side, and that side of the border). It was mind-boggling that an entire round of bullets — rubber or otherwise — and teargas shells were fired continuously (and some explosives were used, the sound of which could be heard in colonies within three kilometres of the campus).

The state was not dealing with terrorists here; and even a suspected terrorist is given a chance to defend his or her case — at least in the ideal sense of the term even if reality may not corroborate it.

Mediapersons were not spared either. Telugu TV channels (and print media) have been reporting the Telangana issue on a sustained basis. Mainstream national electronic media is not seen so regularly on the campus as are the local channels Perhaps that is why the police targeted and beat them up.

But I cannot stop to mention that this incident happened in Hyderabad, a city, in full media glare. Perhaps people might do well to open their eyes to the real affairs in Andhra Pradesh, in the remote corners. Repression and police action is not limited to the Telangana agitation. In the context of Polavaram dam, in the tribal hamlets of Koyas in the interior East Godavari, for instance, tribal farmers not even affiliated to any political outfit have faced charges of even ‘sedition’ for questioning the authorities. In fact, during YSR’s regime, opposing the Polavaram dam (or in any way, questioning the officials in the process of land acquisition) meant jail term for the tribal people. Till date some of them are running to courts clearing cases, without lawyers who come to protect them at every step. There is no media glare, nor political favours.

Today the issue is Telangana; a year or two ago, it was Polavaram and tomorrow it might well be something else. Perhaps we must reflect on the possibility of the government of Andhra Pradesh resorting to similar violence to stop any kind of protest tomorrow against any of its policies, even by the most Gandhian activists, forget the shades of the Left. You needn’t be armed to be put down. And that is a scary thought.

Meanwhile, in a welcome move, the high court has directed the state DGP and Hyderabad police commissioner to immediately withdraw the entire paramilitary and special forces deployed on the university campus and remove the fences. This came following a writ petition filed by three students. The judge ordered that certain police officials should not enter the campus hereafter.

But the problem is more deep-ridden than is perceived. It is time for politicians across party lines to review the state of democracy in Andhra Pradesh.

We don't have any objection if T decides to use Hyd as its capital, but the reins of law and order should not be in the hands of Telangana state. After having brainwashed T people that "Andhras are colonizers, exploiters etc " ,we will not be safe in Hyd.

These people, who are experts in dishing out injustice day in and day out can now thanks to this stupid movement claim to be fighting against mythical and manufactured injustice.

Imagine dora KCR/dora kondadaram reddy/jana reddy/ nagam reddy/panthulu chukka ramiah fighting against "injustice" and on behalf of dalits, women and minorities on telangana side and chowdhary lagadapati, chowdhary kavuri, panthulu vundavalli fighting on andhra side against "injustice". we all know what happened to devender goud and manda krishna madiga in this "movement". 34. @Sravan,

Like KCR I am also a colonizer whose ancestral origins are in Srikakulam.
At one point of time all Telugus of current day AP talked the same telugu and had the same cultural habits. The brits did not impose their culture on the andhra people but the muslim rulers imposed their language, culture, habits on the telugu people under them. In addition the muslims indulged in large scale conversion to islam directly by coercion and indirectly by threat of persecution. 99.99% of the muslims in Telangana are not original muslims who came with the invading armies. They are the result of these conversons just as today in 2010 non hindus in pakistan are being asked to pay extra taxes or convert.
Consequently telugus of telangana imbibed the muslim habits while the telugus of andhra region (who were also earlier under the kakatiya and satavahna rulers of Orugallu kingdom) retained their original habits and language and culture.
The so called Telangana dialect is in reality a degenaration of the language earlier spoken caused by the muslim invasion. It is silly to call it as the language of the Telangana people. It was not. It cannot be.
Similar is the case with some of the habits regarding food etc.

By your logic KCR is a colonizer whose ancestors came from andhra and 'looted' the local telangana people and 'occupied' their land.

There are many in the current telangana movement who also would have ancestral origins in Andhra and had migrated during the kakatiya or Satavahana times from all over their kingdom (which extended to many parts of andhra/seema) to their capital Orugallu. They may not even know it.
I personally know a very well known politician of telangana whose surname is a common surname among the Velamas of Bobbili and when I asked him about this he informed that according to their personal history recorded by their family they came to Telangana after the Bobbili Yuddham and he even has a sword that was used in that war by his ancestor.

What is the origin of the Velamas of Telangana? As per their website their origin is in the area currently spreading from Chittoor to Tamil Nadu whcih was a part of the Chola Kingdom. They were spear wielding soldiers (Vellars in Tamil)of the Army sent by the Chola king to fight (or befriend) the Ganjam Kings. That is why Velamas are found only along a thin route all along from Chittor to Srikakulam with large concentrations before the mighty Krishna and Godavari rivers. (it would have been difficult for even these soldiers to cross them and so large numbers would have stayed back at the river side and settled down). So are the Velamas not Colonizers by your definition.

And half of those migrated from andhra settled outside hyderabad.
How do you think they are safe, if your logic is right?
Brainwashing is the only rationale for your opinions? I don't think so. Because it is rather absurd to believe that entire millions of telangana are brainwashed.

But if telangana is separated then only you logic would work out. Because your govt. would try to initiate policy changes that would attract investors.

You speak like a scumbag when you say the dialect of telangana is degenrated. It is simple evolution of language.
Telugu language in mainstream dates back to prakrit and dravidian amalgamation several centuries back.
Shall we think that the entire language is a degenarative form of protodravidian language?

  39. When people you said colonized they adapted to the ways and laws of the region.
There is no evidence that those early settlers exploited the region.
But there is ample evidence that under AP govt. telangana has been neglected and its resources are exploited to serve some far-off andhra regions.

They invested in Hyderabad and not their region because hyderabad is the capital of their state. Neither you nor I will invest in our home town if returns are better in a bigger city and more so if we live in that city. Andhra people have invested not only in hyderabad but also in Chennai, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Mumbai, Pune etc. Same is the case with Telangana investors. They have also invested in Vizag, Bangalore, Chennai etc.

people in Godavari and krishna delta had the good fortune to be blessed with resources and they could make a lot of money. Naturally many of the early investors were from this region.
They had the cash. People like us from the backward districts of andhra did not have any cash. When the state was formed they invested in Hyderabad. If the capital had been in Timbucktoo, they would have invested there.

Mobilize people to assembly at once. Advertise this. People will need back packs which they have to store food and water in. They can possibly carry first aid kits in those back packs. Allot fliers mentioning this info.

Andhra has clearly ordered a clamp down on telangana activities. Include mid wives and children in the mobilization. This is make it hard for the police to use force. the truth is revenues from hyderabad are spent more in andhra than in hyderabad or telangana.

And what is wrong in that , Telangana is only 40% of AP. It cannot ask for more than 40% of spending. Capitals are developed by taxes from all regions ,no one region can claim exclusively the capital.

If we go by logic of geography alone then tommorow Hyd will become a separate state from telangana and keep the revenue for itself.

NO, NO.. AND A VERY BIG NO!!

You should know that - Andhra pradesh state in reality is NOT a linguistic state. shocked?

here is a small portion of mail sent by a prof. working on telngana bhasha:
    ==========================
    1. Their jati is called Andhra Jati and their Bhasha is Andhramu. They have nothing to do with Trilinga Desa (Telangana among the three lingas of Karimnagar, Bhadrachalam and Srisailam) and Telugu Bhasha which belongs to these people belonging to Trilinga desa.

    2. Let them not say "all telugus" including themselves. They are not Telugus. They belonged to Dandakaranya area and migrated to South with the advent of foreigners into North India. They came and occupied the present Andhra area as there was plenty of river water (as their habit is to move and occupy the greener pastures and claim ownership).

    3. Compare the language of the Andhra Mahabharatham written by Kavithrayam (Nannaya, Thikkana and Errapreggada) with Telugu Bhagavatham written by our Pothana. The latter can be easily understood by anyone who knows Telugu. But to understand even one poem of the former, you need a Divakarla or any Telugu professor's class.

    3.36 lakh crores - for the loss of 5 lakh jobs @ 1.2 lakh/annum for 56 years
14 lakh crores - for using Hyderabad (25,000 crore/year for using Hyd * 56 years)

All the lands grabbed from poor and govt lands, alloted to film nagars, celebrities, Pharma, industries, SEZ and many such idiotic projects would be given back.

Lands belonging to temple, wakf boards which were stolen by Govt - would be returned back.

547 lakh crores for stealing our water resources.

Nationalize the gas reserves found in Andhra, and Andhra has to supply 56% of the gas produced to a new gas-thermal project in Mahaboobnagar for the next 312 years.

Telangana has the right to take water retroactively, that is, the water that was misallocated before, it can take those TMCs out at a later point.

This is just a quick list. Not a comprehensive list! I will do the interest calculations at a later point. The numbers will be far more interesting with interest calculations!

If the losses are to be compensated, then andhra should compensate for the cumulative losses (& cascading effects) for shifting NANDIKONDA project site (proposed prior to 1956) downwards by 20km and denying water to NALGONDA area.. Since the project is not a movable item, will they pay damages, leave alone punitive damages!!

//Don't forget all the logics that you try to use on us , Hyd people will apply on you . //

Here we go, some time back you started your argument on behalf of Andhra people, then the behalf of telangana settlers, then you started on behalf of Telangana/HYD muslims, after that behalf of Telangana SC/ST/BC, now behalf of whole HYD.

We will figure it out ourself when HYD wants to separate from Telangana, don't worry, for now you worry about your United Andhra Band.

Infact Telangana was so much contributed to HYD in forms of Lands/other resources than the Andhra.

Hyderabad made much money by selling the lands which was originally part of Telangana districts.

I am not aware of NANDIKONDA project, Before I comment on that I need to know whether this project was built with both regions tax money or not.

If you say proposed before merge, there were many projects proposed in Telangana too before merge(see the first SRC) and abondanded after the merge. Instead concentrated on Nagarjuna Sagar(proposed before the merge in Andhra) etc. So do you pay penalties for not completing such projects? By the way when Najarjuna Sagar in Telangana area, who is benefiting more with that project? What happened to proposed canal which supposed to deliver water to several Telangana areas?

If you want to talk about compensation we have to calculate each and every project and investment including the lands sold in greater HYD which originally(prior to merge) belongs to Telangana.

I am maintaining a low profile these days. I am not Reality. But I can say this much. Reality bites and I can see you are hurting. lol. For me, I am happy with SriKrishna commission and am looking forward to their report.

    Rakesh,

It looks like you and the other paid social engineers of Telangana (writing for T magazines) are working overtime to steer Telangana the way of Pakistan. You are trying very hard to prove that T and A are different races, but the sane public of Telangana are going to trash your insane argument.

Nannayya, Tikkana lived before 13th century and Pothana is a 15th century poet. You cannot compare writing styles 2 centuries apart. Going by your argument, if Pothana is Telangana, Kaloji cannot be, because the writing style is radically different!

    ReplyDelete
  100. @ Rakesh

I can see some major holes in your arguments.

They have nothing to do with Trilinga Desa (Telangana among the three lingas of Karimnagar, Bhadrachalam and Srisailam) and Telugu Bhasha which belongs to these people belonging to Trilinga desa.

The third lingam is at Draksharam (near kakinada) not at Bhadrachalam

    link :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telugu_language

Compare the language of the Andhra Mahabharatham written by Kavithrayam (Nannaya, Thikkana and Errapreggada) with Telugu Bhagavatham written by our Pothana.

The book written by Pothana is called "Andhra Maha Bhagavatam" not 'Telugu Bhagavatam'.

    link :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pothana

So ,atleast now do see how your professors are trying to brainwash you with fake information. Please dont fall into the traps of those fanatics.

You will be deeply disappointed in mobilizing your Andhra University students. They are kojjas like your leaders lagadapati, roshaiah and kavuri.... oh, did I forget your Undavalli? How could I? That number lies within the ten-thousand'th of the 0.2% margin of error.

You need to learn some basics.

Anyone and everyone holding a mike doesn't always speak FOR the people they represent.

In Telangana, we beat the crap out of politicians who betray us. Have you seen the chappals fall on Nagam's head? Nagam was talking for Telangana and for the OU students yesterday... do you think we care a damn for those speeches?

We have disowned all Congress MLAs... We have disowned all TDP MLAs... We have disowned the bastard Chiranjeevi... The Telangana muslims have publicly made it clear on many forums that MIM doesn't represent their true aspirations... like any other politicians.

They will get the same treatment police gives to violent mobs. Violent mob in SKU also got the same treatment.

  114. @T_Bidda,

The Andhras NEVER took active part in freedom struggle

For that matter, India's independence was more a consequence of the changes in world than our struggle. Around the same time most South Asian nations got freedom without struggling like us. Does that take away the contribution of Gandhiji & others. Our contribution may not have been as good as Bengalis or Marathis. That doesn't mean you can belittle us.

Infact, they loved the colonizers so much, they built statues of cotton-dora!
This infact directly goes against your allegation that were are chauvinistic. Despite all the wrongs Britishers committed, we forgave them for the little good they have done.. On the contrary we feel that this itself shows that we're broadminded people.

And these days, since NO SANE Telangana watches etv, TV9 or sakshi tv, we dont get such irrelevant and minority news.
You must understand that this time around this movement got noticed because of media. This time you people have been most fortunate to have received the attention of all nation. These very channels are inviting many Telangana people for debate. (We also appreciate HMTV for Dasha Disha).

On the final note, why so much hatred against Andhras. Your fight is for separate state. In this direction already Srikrishna commission has been setup. If your cause is just, this committee will surely recommend separate Telangana.

Pl wait with patience. You're making the scene chaotic by becoming emotional. Till Srikrishna Committee submits its report, I think all activities should be halted. In peaceful environment we can think more objectively. You people are becoming more emotional & in the confusion some policemen lost restraint & used violence (not that its just, but why protests when the aim of it is already been recognized by Indian Govt.)

Creating constitutional crises through mass resignations is unnecessary! That all parties are vertically divided shows how must regionism has surpassed party loyalties. You will achieve nothing worthy by forcing them.

And even if tomorrow Telangana is granted, note that Andhra is its neighbour. Can you afford to spread this kind of hatred against your neighbour?

Just as you express your desire, we wish to express it too. What is so horrendous about requesting all to be united? I should like to know.

After the Jallianwallah bagh massacre, the Dyer arguments were exactly similar; He said, he didn't care if there were women or children, he was just enforcing the law. And guess what, no one punished him to death either.

  130. Green Star & T-Bidda.

When Centre announced on Dec9th the statement, there was panic & fear amongst our people. This was the direct result of KCR/others making some ridiculous statements. Hence, we wanted intervention of Centre to amicably deal the situation by finding out the relevant facts.

A 3rd party fact-finding committee would ensure that the solution is just & fair to all.

Just as KCR is not Telangana, the leaders you mention are not what Andhra is about. We are not in agreement with everything they speak, just like you.

You have lost nothing by this committee. There have been some others as you mention, but we are not convinced of the applicability of the same results to the present scenario.

Telangana will be your neighbor and in upper land.
The way you tell this appears to be like a warning. This is what we detest. This really makes us feel cautious which is why we oppose you.

I have no interest in dealing with dual-standard-dual-speak bastards like you.
Now, really friend I should like to know why our cautious approach is not justified?

Most of the problems of Telangana have not been caused by commoners of Andhra. Yet, we genuinely feel shocked by the hatred u spread. We have been together for more than 50 years. By that very common identity, you ought to be more circumspect to us.

The problem is that we're not satisfied with your evidences. If Srikrishna Committee proves you right, I'll be the first to apologize to all Telanganas..But until then, you ought not to make sweeping remarks..

FYI, Undavalli never committed himself to anti-telangana stand. He merely said we need to talk abt it more & settle issues.

You expect us to BELIEVE that justice will be served. Sri Krishna Committee submitted another report in Mumbai... and no one has acted on it for ages.

You expect us to believe that YOU... hiding under a name you dont believe in 9thanks to your military action on 19 yr old girls in hostels on valentines day!)... will come back and apologize to us if the committee condemns Andhras of robbery and discrimination.

  132. //Hence, we wanted intervention of Centre to amicably deal the situation by finding out the relevant facts.//

So you concluded that Central agreed to Telangana on Dec-9, without even studying fully.

//A 3rd party fact-finding committee would ensure that the solution is just & fair to all. //

There is no guarantee that Andhra leaders will accept the Commission recommendations if it favors to Telangana. And many of other commission reports are trashed like this before which favors to Telangana.

/Just as KCR is not Telangana, the leaders you mention are not what Andhra is about. We are not in agreement with everything they speak, just like you.//

Agreed, we have thousands of times expressed that we are nothing to do with KCR/TRS except we are working for same goal.

//You have lost nothing by this committee.//

If Andhra publicly violate all the agreements made before and they don't give a damn about it, if Andhra can over turn and nullify the Supreme court, if Andhra can change the central govt decision with mass resignation, why do you think they can not influence the commission?

//The way you tell this appears to be like a warning.//

This kind of statements coming from us only after you challenged us by stopping the central after the dec-9th statement. So there is no point for you saying that is the reason you oppose us.

//We have been together for more than 50 years. By that very common identity, you ought to be more circumspect to us.//

Are you forgetting we want to go on our own way from few decades?

//The problem is that we're not satisfied with your evidences. If Srikrishna Committee proves you right, I'll be the first to apologize to all Telanganas..But until then, you ought not to make sweeping remarks..//

If Girglaini takes several years to find the numbers, how come Sree Kirshna will know in ten months? Have you ever apologize when you found 5000 illegal jobs in 1969, stealing around 33 crores in 1968, illegal 50,000 jobs again in 1985 (GO610), and 2lak jobs again in 2005(Girglaini Commission report)? Forget the apologies, are you atleast worked towards to fix this?

Why non of your people/leaders asking to start implementation of GO610 or Six Point formula? If you want to live together then you should work constructively to gain Telangainaties trust.

  136. This is definitely NOT People's Movements. Please rename it as Telangana Dora movement to become super rich Dora's.

I see this whole Telangana movement as some rich doras feeling great heart burn over huge amounts of wealth amassed by super rich andhra kammas and nothing more. In this process they are using dalits BC's other poor Telanganites to achieve seperate state so that rich doras can now fill in the vaccum created by super rich kammas and become super rich. THIS IS IMMORAL. Doras ware walking on the dead bodies of dalits and BC's to achive seperate state and join the league of Super rich. I view this very very very IMMORAL.

If center is ready to form Telangana then i think the BC's Dalits must sign an agreement with Doras like the gentelmen agreement which was signed when T- merged with Andhra so that these rich dora's wanna be of super rich dont get away scott free with free lunch. There must be guarantees for Dalits so that we can check how nobel doras are in emanicipating lower castes lol.

Having said above i agree with Doras on how dangerous cheating ways the rich kammas(gang) became super rich.

Super rich kammas are a gang of cheaters in a different league.

I understand when Telanganites read doras say pettubadi darulu, colonizers etc where actually reffering to these gang of Kammas.

Nobody in Andhra Pradesh can match them they are less than a million(1-2 %) in population but enjoy a great percentage of resources of this state.

The problem i see is Doras are not able to catch up the the kamma gang.

Thanks to people like Kancha Ilaiah who are demanding education rightly as guarantees for all the scrifices done by Dalits and BC's for achiving seperate state.

u are in a time warp. Unroll urself out of 1953-mindset. U could celebrate Telangana culture 6 months back, 2 years back 10 years back etc. If u think Telangana has not developed for 55 years, u are asleep. It can only develop as much as u (citizens) allow it to. Elect good leaders, make responsible decisions to educate ur family, demand accountability from leaders regularly and not after 60 years etc. Once u focus on development issues and scientific solutions, u'll understand how the separate state movement is ridiculous at the outset. Govt jobs is < 1%. New companies and industries can come up in the state and T region and offer jobs if people get educated and learn skills. Demand solutions to water problems from ur MLA, MP with same energy as u did for a separate state. This is all that matters.

  145. T_bidda,
If I may suggest, pointing out one caste or the other is not actually a good thing to do. Actually we can discuss things with out the mention of castes.
I think it is better we keep the caste card out of healthy discussions.
Lets do our part clean. We need not stain our hands to clean the filth.
I understand that the two upper castes of Andhra and Rayalseema are the key role players in the govt. today. Our AP govt. since its formation has been the theatre for these two castes to stage their fight. But in all this, telangana was ignored, exploited and insulted. We just want to quit this kind of arrangement.
Whatever comes next, we can tackle that later.
But we should first get out of this arrangement.
The andhra people's crying on caste lines is the main reason behind all the mess.
Remember that the socialist revolution was successful in telangana.
Even though the Andhra Mahasabha and other parties preaching social equality emerged from andhra, never they could achieve what telangana was able to do.
These all parties are pseudo socialist and they just use the coin of social equality to gain leverage in the politics. Remember these parties never give a lower caste person any leverage. The TDP is led by Kamma, the Andhra congress by Reddy and the communist /socialist party by Brahmins. This was what happening all these days.
In telangana picture is different. There is lot lesser economic parity between social classes compared to andhra.
We were able to raise a socialist revolution back in 1950's. If not these pseudo socialist uppercaste parties from andhra intervened, then telangana would have been an ideal state.
These guys never understand this. I have seen harijan vadas in andhra villages. They are still separated from the main villages. The people hardly communicate or associate with each other.
In telangana today, most villages are majority population belongs to backward and scheduled classes. Except for the thandas most other social group dwellings have mostly amalgamated.
Because of the naxalite movement in 1980's hardly any upper caste people live in villages.
This is not the case with andhra.
They are estimating just by extrapolating the situation in andhra with telangana.
    They no nothing of telangana.

  148. Sravan,

    You are right.

There was no need to mention a caste. Infact, the comment was generally about the hostile environment created in Hyderabad for non-establishment.

Establishment is the issue... and I honestly do not have any idea who belongs to which caste, except that I have been discriminated against for my caste.

It happens to be this mysterious key that opens many doors. Its amazing what that tail at the end of someone's name can do. But, what the heck... thats a struggle for another day. I am not Mandakrishna to go about grabbing attention at every opportunity.

  152. Green Star:
We're not anti-Telangana, but we only want a fair deal. In past, situation in India was not favourable to smaller states. Now, it is better. You have no reason to distrust Indian Govt.(u hv made amply clear that u distrust us anyway)

Do you think Telangana will forget every thing and live happily with Andhra after knowing every betrayal including you used your force to stop the separation?
I used "maybe". In US, blacks were discriminated against for centuries. Now, don't they co-exist in peace? Is not the new President; half-Afro-American in origin.?

Majority of Andhras are not involved in suppressing you. We condemn the use of force against a civilized protest.

Contrary to your belief, the committee will allow the whole India to see the results. After that whether we believe or not, is not a criteria at all, State Assembly has no say in separation; it for Parliament of India to decide.

But we want to look at facts. Thats all.

All we are saying is don't rupture the process now. In due course of time, the problem will be solved. The roadmap has been drawn by Chidambaram.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Peace,
We too want a fair deal. We don't just want a division.
Ideally to be fair, we need to be paid back for all the injustices done.
But as you said before, practicality of decisions are above idealism, we are simply settling with separate state.
Given the same reason, andhrans have no choice but accept division of the state with out any say.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Peace,
irrespective of what the committee says you cannot give back the jobs and the life lost by millions of telangana people due to the illegal means adopted by andhra.
And you need not see the results of the committee to believe. It has already been proved by myriad committees that telangana surplus was illegally used in andhra, the jobs were illegally alloted to andhra.
And above all, the GO's and the promises made time to time have been simply discarded using brutal majority and bureaucratic strength. These have been already proved by the commissions constituted by the govt.
We do not need any more new committees.
They are simply trying to fool telangana people.
Do you know what is going to happen with in days of stopping any kind of protests??
All the students would be in jails, harrassed, their parents intimidated and lot of other things that media would not care to report.
This has been happening for a while in India.
Do you think our govt. is ideally working today???
If it was ideal govt. what was the need to deploy 1000 special police in a campus where nothing except peaceful protests happened in the last two months?
Why should be the handful of students stopped from going towards tarnaka and stage a drama of violence and tyranny?
No body asks this, but they first of all do not miss the chance that students pelted stones. If they were not stopped and intimidated why would they retaliate?
That was sheer cunning attitude of the police.

  156. I keep hearing from politicians in media (TV & News paper), that they should attend Assembly to discuss public issues or problems...the developments post Dec 9th are NOT public issues?

Governor does not address this issue in his speech ?

CM is only anxious to get budget bill passed?

Opposition leader CBN looses does not lose a single opportunity to criticize govt, did he became blind, deaf and dumb!!!

Forget about TG elected leaders...whatever least and last hope we had is lost…same 1969 betrayers got re-incarnated in 2009.

SeemaAndhra elected leaders does not raise this issue though for last two months they toured and chanted united mantra...why they don't raise this issue in Assembly at least raise a voice to lift the cases filed against students or agitators in Andhra?

It’s annoying that members of assembly are maintaining as if NOTHING happened, TRUTH is they are real culprits for all the confusion and current situation... NO SINGLE POLICE CASE IS FILED AGAINST THESE LEADERS.

At least on SriKrishna TOR’s or time frame either pro or anti…every leader or political party had varied views on committee why they are not discussing in assembly?

It’s very clear all the political leaders and parties from the three regions are working in union…or have some secret understanding.

Where as 5000 people got arrested post Dec 9th. 250+ from Andhra and 1200+ from TG criminal cases are filed on protestors!!!

Home Minister in response to TDP demand makes a statement that cases against students will be lifted after return of peace...are the students responsible or "root cause" for disturbance!!! She even claims same was stated in Dec 9th Chidambaram statement related to lifting of police cases...

Why no case is filed against Raj Gopal, Anam Vivek, KCR, Mohanbabu, Komati Venkat, Sridhar Babu, Damodar Reddy for all the anti or pro slogan or speeches made...i.e section (174, 148,153 etc) (Please see today’s Sakshi page 7 to get list of cases filed on OU incident)

Why no case is filed against JC Diwakar THE founder and co-sponsor of resignation dramas...

Why no case is filed against Chidambaram for issuing, going back and finally created confusion and unrest in state with those statements.

Didn't the TG leaders realized last month that only way to get TG statehood is while being in party or not resigning...why did they kept on PROMISING or ASSURING the TG people that until TG is formed they won't take any positions some even went to extent declaring themselves as "Ex Ministers"...today when students or villagers or JAC asks or mob their houses for resignations, police cases are filed and JAC leader (Kodandaram) is ref as Hitler!!!

Did Kodandaram came or contested to become JAC convener, these same bunch of politicians had chosen him, don’t give an excuse KCR had chosen convener, you never objected when he was proposed or was selected, you have used JAC and its convener when you needed shelter and today you are calling him or ref as HITLER !!!.

The same leaders promised or gave impression that with resignations ONLY TG would be formed, since anti TG leader’s resignations had stopped or gave hopes for United, why police cases are filed now when people are asking or obeying or walking in path what they preached!!!

Yesterday TG was betrayed by TG politicians and TODAY also TG is betrayed by its OWN leaders, TG has genuine case and has every right to exist as separate state but sadly we LACK or don't have leader, TG can TRUST and LOOK FWD...

We need genuine leader(s) first then TG second!!! Today TG is orphan child, would request my TG's fellows point to me ANY leader in TG who can lead or can give hope or at to whom TG can look fwd!!!

    She explains that
"the students were first stopped by the police from leading the procession towards Tarnaka."

She does not explain why were they stopped. Is it not the violation of our fundamental right to freedom of formation of association and peaceful processions.

The rights exercised by the students in the said situation were framed in article 19-1(a),(b),(c) and (d).(Right to freedom of speech & expression, freedom of peaceful assembly with out arms, freedom to form associations and unions, freedom to move freely with in the territory of India.)

sec 144 was in place at OU. How can they go towards tarnaka.

The common man of hyderabad has a right to be protected by the police.
A few weeks ago these students became hooligans and rowdies and went on the rampage in tarnaka attacking common citizens of the city. naturally the police has to prevent such things from recurring.

If they had not stopped the rally towards tarnaks they would have been held responsible for the attacks that would have occurred again on the common people.

Taxes are only paid to the govt.for the white money that is shown.

we might find mostly we know who...

Wasnt Chiranjeevi still paying his taxes in Chennai till recently, until someone pointed it out.

Taxes arent collected or are exempted from,on donations towards a noble cause, and what better way to fool the govt.than start our own trust.

This section cannot be invoked for more than 2 months.
And the 144 section was imposed before december 9th.
It is against the court judgement that 144 section should not be imposed to provide one party with material advantage over the other.

They can go out and form a procession.
The police should not stop them at all.

  163. @ Anand:

You are right in pointing out that TG doesn't have reliable leaders today.

But, having good MASS leaders is not a necessity for a movement. Having a handful of CLASS leaders is enough.

The TG MLAs and MPs who got the "party tickets" are "professional" Congress/TDP bred dogs... whose chief aim is to serve the high-command and secondary aim: to make truck loads for the next elections.

The Samaikyavaadis are in the Politics-business to safe-guard their self-interests and own businesses.

If you look around... there are not many leaders in the entire country. The Indian sub-continent is being exploited and Indian interests sold by these very "politician dogs" whose interests and agendas NEVER match those of the people. Dont you remember how the high-commands of this country even sold defense deals?

Who in their right minds would allow LAKHS of people across border to infilterate and give them ration-cards just before elections? Our very own Communists in West Bengal. And what do we do in return for them? Praise Jyothi Basu like he is a stalwart of some kind.... May he rest in peace!

India today doesn't need the "Bhaashan wale" leaders... India needs the galli-mohalle leaders... who will be at a call's distance and keep people united AGAINST Police Zulum... against attrocities by the govt. on the people.

I had some respect for Madam Home Minister... but, after I heard the statement... "Laathi charge lo vidyaarthulaku media mitrulaku SWALPAMUGA gaayalu tagilinavi".... I think we can safely ignore her human-ness. She is SOLD-OUT. I dont care where she was born and where her husband was born... She truly betrayed the people who thought Indra Reddy was a Telangana-son.

Like you said... I am amazed and shocked at their UNITY!!! These bastards were ready to throw eggs at each other 2 weeks ago.. now they are having lunches and dinners together. Long-live their UNITY! They need to be friends... coz they cannot avoid each other in the hell, where they truly belong.

Before you go about preaching others about getting a life, u ought to get yourself a name.
"u are in a time warp..."

Time warp...hmmm...looks like you are an avid watcher of scifi stuff and highly influenced by the theory of relativity. But sadly this is not another StarTrek episode. Maybe you are the one who is "space warped". first get this...telangana is not hyderabad. So, stop the silly rhetoric on development in Telangana because without hyd TG's dev has been negligible.
    "Elect good leaders.. blah"
I agree the leaders of telangana epitomize incompetence but at the same time you need to understand that TG leaders have always been in the minority. If you have paid attention to your civics lectures u'll know a majority is required to pass any resolution in the assembly. No matter how competent the leaders are if you do not have a majority you cannot move rat's a*se.
Don't come back asking for examples because if you have done your homework right u'll know what am referring to.
"Elect good leaders, make responsible decisions to educate ur family, demand accountability from leaders regularly..."
Makes absolutely no sense if you are struggling to make ends meet because you don't have water to sustain your only means of livelihood and there are no govt schools offering subsidized primary education!
"Once u focus on development issues and scientific solutions, u'll understand how the separate state..."
May be if you stop being so superficial and try to understand the crux of the problem you would be talking something close to making sense.
    "Govt. jobs..."
I agree the number of private jobs is more...but <1% is a significant number. So why is it that in spite of being meritorious its hard for an individual to find a govt job. You should either know someone on the inside or get recommended by a relative/friend. Whatever happened to the piece of paper title GO 610 which talked about preserving local jobs for locals.
"New companies and industries can come up in the state..."
Sure, why not?! Then you need to get permission from ppl like Jagan/KVP who would pick where the industry has to be located, who gets the tenders, how much they need etc etc. doesn't really matter if it always has to be within GHMC limits, after all hyderabad is TG, according to you.
"will now allow my state and region to go into the wasteland of failed states like USSR, Cuba, Venezuela etc. Get urself a life. Equality is a myth. U can aspire for it and perfect equality is impossible..."
    OH REALLY?!
Do you really think AP was ever a democracy...it has always been a plutocracy with a tinge of kratocracy!

"T separatists constantly talk about stealing, looting...
that's what T elites have been doing all their life."
Perfect example of "ulta chor kotwaal ko daante". Abey dhakkan
looks like there is a problem with your cognitive process.

Either you don't want to accept facts or u feel offense is the best defense.

Anyway go get yourself some real information from real books and not from places like greatandhra, kufr and whatever other hollow media that has been enriching your rhetoric.

  166. It is so funny to read some comments here. People are speaking as if Dowry exists only in andhra . Dowry is a social evil which is prevalent through out India.

Also another one speaks that prior to merger Telangana was a ideal state , then why where the Doras in control till late 80's. In the end it was a andhra CM who did the right thing by abolishing patel patwari system, something Telangana CMs like Chenna,PV did not do.

Also on the topic of corruption of andhra capitalists , does this politician-business men-officers nexus exists only in AP. This is corrupt nexus is prevelant through out India.

Like Blue shift said earlier, this whole movement has its genesis in the jealousy of elite, doras of telangana w.r.t to elite, landlords of andhra and gullible telangana people are falling into the traps of these elites and doras.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Dowry sure is a social evil which is prevelant all over the country, but the level at which it exists in the said region,is humungous.

When a few rich industrialists and businessmen start this form of illegal transaction of money from one family to the other,a commonman(who does not accept bribes,or doesnt have any illegal money stashed away)who can only afford to,may be give his children a decent education is insulted for the same.

When I quoted about my relative I meant ,just that.

Not just that, she tells me that her own relatives made fun of her father, for being so UNSUCCESSFUL in life.

Why dont you,ll ask (if you really belong to the said category) your elders and relatives,if they are respected in their hometowns for being the same.

Its not just the wrong, its the level at which it is done that matters too.

Even an instituton like marraige is conducted like business.

    Jr. N.T.R marrying a minor,Narne estates owner,s daughter is a recent example.CBN,s son only marries Balakrishna,s daughter.

Rich people marry rich.....and create socially unacceptable situations for a commoner.

A lot of social problems are directly related to how the govt. functions(and we know how it is functioning, now). And,if the govt.itself is corrupt, then how can you say that the public respect its decision.

    And to the jealousy...comment
we all know that Hyderabad was the 5th richest capital in

Yup, they protested one time and they got there rights and whites never tried to betray them. So whites stand on there word.

//it for Parliament of India to decide.//

That is exactly we are trying to say, when many commission reports are trashed in the past, there is no guarantee that same thing not going to happen, after the dec-9th statement, they still need to go to Parliament to decide the fate of Telangana, so why did you protested against the Telangana? And there is so much mistrust in Telangana for Andhra, and it is clear that they are not going to live together, so time passing with this commission only increases the distance between the people but will not help any way.

//But we want to look at facts. Thats all.//

In such situation, after the dec-9th statement instead of challenging us with United Andhra agitation, you should have urge the central to put a commission and find out the facts.

Jobs discrimination was proved again and again in the past, we can easily find out the budget allocation. You can get all information from govt. dept within weeks. So why do they need whole ten months?

We have strong reasons that they way how blackmailed/forced the central to back-off from dec-9th statement, the same way you can influence the commission. If none of the Telangana people claims are true then Govt. will have released white papers long back to checkmate the TRS.

Medak district police in Andhra Pradesh arrested six persons in connection with some local people beating up 'outsiders', including some Tamil youth who had come for job interviews at the Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd at Ramachandrapuram near Hyderabad.

Medak district superintendent of police VC Sajjanar told the rediff.com that the incident had flared up as the local people, including some existing BHEL employees and members of BHEL workers' union, were angry that the final list for interview call did not include the names of the local candidates and the list was full of outsiders.

In view of the tension and the controversy, the BHEL management cancelled the interviews. But trouble broke out when the candidates were returning from BHEL. "There was a clash in which many outsiders, not just Tamilians, were beaten up," Sajjanar said.

"We have already arrested six people," he said.

Police officials agreed that apart from the local versus non-local issue, the ongoing agitation for Telangana incident was also a factor in the incident as the people of Telangana have a long-standing grouse that they do not get their share in the jobs in organisations such as BHEL and most of the jobs always go to the non-locals.

Incidents of students from other states becoming a target of an attack came to notice when a group of 20 students from Chennai, upon their return home, met the police commissioner there and lodged a complaint with him.

I will not defend myself against biased or nameless comments/commentators.

And my comment about dowry and such was meant, the LEVEL at which it is done in the aforesaid region.

    On a different comment,

The govt. is all powerful in implementing any laws that deem fit for the general public like dowry, bribery and many such.

But,when our govt. is filled with double faced politicians (read belonging to the said regions or other wise),who would implement them???

When the law enforcers themselves do not follow laws, one cannot expect a common man to respect them.

When a politician does illegal money laundering,a common man will definetely not follow laws made by him(dowry,bribery...).

A leader has to lead by example.

And we know what kind of an example these so called leaders potray and where the majority of them are from...

    POLITICS=SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.

Politicians are directly and/or indirectly responsible for the society we are in.

When a child makes a mistake the parents are held responsible, for bringing them up that way.

Just like I am holding the politicians responsible for social evils in our society.

  183. Yes, it does matter even if you are pullaiah.

Too many anonymouses are causing confusion,as we do not know which anonymous is that we are talking to.

The least you can do is have an identity, instead of hiding behind an anonymous comment.

    ReplyDelete
  184. //If i put my name as pullaiah instead of anonymous does it okay with you? who is greenstar? are you not responding to him?//

pullaiah fine with us, it doesn't matter if it is a fake or not, we are fine as long as there is no duplication of names in this blog.

When you add your identity to your comments, it will help us to write you back based on your previous comments, now we have no way to know which one are your previous comments.

For example if a Anonymous(from pool) claims him self that he is stupid, fool, ignorant etc, so we assume that to all Anonymous guys and we want to avoid that.

  186. I couldn't find any news article related to Samaikya Andhra Garjana @ Vizaj, can some one find me a link?

All I can find is few videos showing more number of leaders on the stage than the total number of audience attended that event.

And that funny singer who is too emotionally singing the Samaikya Andhra Song on the stage, which claims the false fact again that Potti sacrificed his life for United Andhra Pradesh.

Few other leaders keep stressing that there are many problems if we get divided but no one care to tell a few about what are those problems. Hehehea...heha...

That is how they brainwash there people with wrong/mis-guided information.

  187. Reality
this whole movement has its genesis in the jealousy of elite, doras of telangana w.r.t to elite, landlords of andhra
    That is a myth.
We telangana people have been fighting for a separate state since 50 years.
50 years ago the situation was not the same in Andhra.
In the last 50 years poorer got poorer and richer got richer.
What you said is something that is self deceiving and for your own self satisfaction.
Probably unknown to you, your conscience has recognized the guilt of andhra plutocrats. May be you are one of them or that you own ego was hurt, whatever the reason, you have developed you own defensive mechanism.
The statement, the myth you carry, now is manifestation of that, which in psychology we call as Projection or more precisely in your case a combination of "denial" , "Delusional Projection"
    and "Neurotic Rationalization"
I think you should go meet that guy at barista. Probably he was trying to help you. But it seems you did not oblige and it seems to me like you also have anxiety disorder.
    Take care

You probably belong to the dora class or the elite class which is jealous of andhra elites & capitalists ,thats why your conscience got pricked. Come out in the open and say that the real reason you are fighting is for the elites and you don't give a damn about the poor people of Telangana.

  191. @ realty:

I belong to the most oppressed and backward class. I have been laughing at the Andhra-upper-caste allegations all along this movement, each time you bring up the doras.

FYI... there are no doras in our villages and towns.

Another FYI for you... we do not get into politics for a reason... we do not have the MONEY to win against the current Ramoji-rao-run-plutocracy.

And... we know that the doras of 5 decades ago cannot be blamed for this. The current situation is totally a creation of the king-makers, the andhra-kings and people like you.

Nice try at dividing us to rule us again. You need to try harder.

  192. Sujai, T-Bidda, Sravan, Anuj and others:

You all are coming out with great ideas how to take fwd the agitations peacefully, except in villages we are not seeing people coming openly on streets in urban centers even on the day of OU atrocities, even though these blogs are widely read by urban crowd.

I say it’s because of lack of “trusted platform” is keeping or limiting lot of people (friends and family I know personally) in sympathize phase, they are not able to come on to streets because they don’t trust any party or group, today TG need a platform or a leader who they can trust, I strongly feel JAC should formed as long term non-political party or group, to protect the rights and uplift region, people and importantly continue the struggle or agitation for separate state.

    1) As a first step they should kick out or stay away from political parties.
    2) Enrollment of members on mass scale online, manual etc, in current mood I strong believe every TG would love to become member ( I am confident of 2 Cr members), this will drive the political parties scary or nervous.
    3) Encourage and collect funds in transparent manner
    4) Organize peaceful programs ( ex: Longest Human Chain) once every month or qtr.
    5) In parallel keep a watch on Govt policies, GO’s, fund allocation etc.
    6) Help students to maintain peace, give moral support, job placement for final years students etc
    7) This association should serve as platform to groom tomorrow leaders…
    8) Encourage village level journalism
    9) This group should become so strong and powerful no political leader can dare or take step without the blessing of the group.
    10) As and when state is formed this group will act as parent and monitoring body of TG Govt to safe guard the rights of people and region.

I don’t see anything wrong in Kodandaram to head this group, I have been observing his interviews for last couple of months, he is very articulate and humble, I am sure he poses the qualities of deliver-ability then bashans…

Would request my fellow TG folks on this blog to debate in this direction, I feel time has arrived to protect the “great movement” before TG politicians sabotage(s) the movement; this movement has bought the unity among all the TG people … we need to find and explore to protect and grow this “great movement”.

  193. Reality you are a racist. You are trying to judge people's caste based on what they write.
It is very common knowledge to telangana people that whenever andhra person like you meets someone new, they first try to judge their caste. Thereafter they decide how to proceed with the new association.
This is far from reality in telangana. People like reality only try to taint the spirit of telangana movement by making such statements about jealousy.
He makes it clear that andhra are somehow better than telangana people.
And the reason I do not know what he contemplates for that.
But it is important to note that he believes telangana should form a separate state. His only problem is with hyderabad.
Now I do not understand a bit what would jealousy has to do with claiming hyderabad.
Hyderabad was in telangana before merger. After merger Andhra people could enjoy the resources of hyderabad as their capital. Now when we are separating they want hyderabad to be separated too from telangana.
Now who is jealous and for what?
God knows what reality is trying to prove.
He is full of self contradictions.

Nice try ,trying to twist your prejudices on me. You were the one who first wrote that i am a andhra elite and when i question you if you are a telangana elite , i become a racist!

//It is very common knowledge to telangana people that whenever andhra person like you meets someone new, they first try to judge their caste. Thereafter they decide how to proceed with the new association.//

Keep expressing your hatred of andhras and keep inventing new reasons to hate them . That is the only way this movement based on hatred can survive.

Anyway , my point is not to say that only doras and elite are fighting for T, but their jealousy is what started this whole thing .

The SRC included Bidar also in the list of districts in the proposed state of Telangana.Let us get Bidar from Karnataka at any cost.It is a legal demand.I don't know why the our Telangana leaders and students have not said anything about it.
    Excerpt from SRC Report
    389. The State of Hyderabad (as we would prefer to all this unit) to be constituted for the time being, should consist of the following districts, namely, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Hyderabad, Medak and Bidar and Munagaala enclave in Nalgonda district belonging to the Krishna district of the existing Andhra State

//Now I do not understand a bit what would jealousy has to do with claiming hyderabad.//

Here is the real deal. The telangana feudal doras have failed to convert themselves into Capitalist class unlike andhra landlords. These doras see the prosperity of andhra capitalists and rue that they missed the bus. That is the jealousy for doras. Once T state is formed ,these doras think they can rule hyd and grab all the prosperity that was created.

  197. Anand,
It is indeed a great idea.
But we should understand that staying away from political leaders is not practically possible. But we can nudge this spine less politicians to work hard for telangana. After all they are the official people representatives. And we cannot defy the government for the same reason.
Actually I think there is way out of this dilemma. We should first recognize one political leader who is sincere and selfless and known to be so. Start giving this person more representation and trying to cast ignorance on the big mouth selfish leaders who are in power then we can make things change.
Because the person or persons who are sincere and selfless (make sure that does not belong to TRS as TRS already has been tainted as a crooked one by our media), and if he/she is able to act independently of the party leadership then probably we can win over the political leaders.
We need someone who is a people's elected representative who can actually act as the intermediary.
But we cannot move forward by completely ignoring the politicians. Instead we should be able to make it clear that if they do not comply they will loose their political career.
It is important to note that these political leaders think that if they can hold power until elections they can win over again with or with out people's support. They have been doing this mockery of indian election and voting system since several years. But we should make them accept that unless they support and actively take responsibility with out selfish interests they would not withstand the next elections.
We should chose such a self less politician to showcase that people will only support unselfish and committed leaders.

  199. Reality,
but hyderabad always belonged to telangana.
How could andhra plutocrats gain dominance if these telangana politicians and plutocrats were jealous of them??
And is that the reason why these telangana plutocrats have been fighting since 50 years before the merger and after the merger.
You try to ignore the injustice done in water sharing and govt. jobs.
These feudal lords would have the least interest in govt. jobs.
I told you are you are deceiving yourselves if you truly believe what you are saying. Or else you are just trying to win the argument on basis of lies.
