The current agitation in Andhra and Rayalaseema has a reached a gigantic proportion. All the political leaders of Andhra-Rayalaseema are united and so are the people. There is bandh in every city, fasts everywhere, rallies, riots, and strikes. They chant ‘Samaikya Andhra’ which actually means We-won’t-give-you-Hyderabad. Even center is mulling the idea of converting Hyderabad into a Union Territory.
Imagine
Imagine Jharkhand wants to become a separate state because they have been dominated, discriminated and marginalized by Biharis in the united state of Bihar. They produce a long list of complaints and evidences where they clearly show how Jharkhand got the short end of the stick. One of the complaints includes the fact that while there are 6 power plants in the state, 3 in Bihar and 3 in Jharkhand, the ones in Jharkhand actually produce more power than those in Bihar, but all the power from Jharkhand is actually used to power Bihar and not Jharkhand. So, though they possess 3 major power plants of the state, they are not benefitting from it.
During the separation, imagine Biharis come out on the streets, riot, and their politicians flex their muscles of majority to cow down the minority of Jharkhand. To appease the rioting Biharis, Center decides to hand over the 3 power plants of Jharkhand to Bihar.
Any neutral observer would balk at such a move. Its sheer injustice he would say. What’s the whole idea of giving statehood then, if you are going to deprive them of the very assets they were trying to protect? But that’s how the justice is being doled out in India nowadays.
Cheat the cheated. That’s the mantra.
Telangana-Andhra
For years, Telangana has claimed that it has been dominated, discriminated and contemptuously marginalized by the majority Andhra. Now that they are about to attain statehood, they are being deprived of the very asset that made them look a bit decent. Hyderabad, the state capital, which Telanganas have claimed is being run by Andhras, though it is their city, is either going to be handed over to Andhras or converted to Union Territory. The idea is simple, if it is converted to Union Territory, the Andhras who are holding the positions of power at all levels can continue to run the city as if it belonged to them.
So, how are we going to dole out justices in India? Deprive the backwards regions of the only valuable asset to leave them sucked and dry.
Cheat the cheated. That’s the mantra.
Telangana fall shorts in all comparisons. Either it is the literacy, the number of schools and colleges, the irrigated lands, the number of high court judges, the power consumed, or any other indicator. These numbers though low may not look indecent, few notches below Andhra, because Telangana numbers include the numbers of Hyderabad, which compensates for utter lack of numbers in the rest of Telangana. Now, you take out Hyderabad from the picture. What do you get? Figures so low that it will make any neutral observer shout, ‘What the hell are you guys doing here? You are going to leave Telangana completely decimated, amputated, maimed and bruised?’
I could go into any number of statistics to show how Telangana’s figures drop down drastically without Hyderabad. I will show you only one.
Post Andhra Pradesh formation in 1956, 10 universities were created in Andhra-Rayalaseema region while 11 universities in Telangana. The numbers of Telangana include Hyderabad. Telangana claims that though many universities are in Telangana the positions are filled by Andhra people who control them. Now, the Center decided to separate the state so that Telangana people can claim their dignity. And what does it want to do? Remove Hyderabad from Telangana to either hand it over to Andhras or make it a Union Territory – which means the same as – to be under the control of Andhras. So what do we get as a result?
4 Universities in Telangana. 17 Universities for Andhra+Rayalaseema+UT-Hyderabad.
This will completely emasculate the already emasculated Telangana.
Cheat the cheated. That’s the mantra.
An article in Times of India writes,
It is worth noting that Andhra Pradesh's most productive areas, investment-rich Vishakhapatanam and the K G Basin, will stay with Andhra. Which would leave a new Telangana with just one asset - Hyderabad.
Conceding that Telangana’s only asset is Hyderabad, now the Andhras are going to deprive Telangana even of that one asset. Is there a limit to greed? Is there a limit to injustice that Telangana has borne? How much can you suck a region so dry? How do you want to leave your enemy- battered, broken, emasculated and completely useless?
Even some conquerors of India showed more mercy to the defeated Indian Kings.

ReplyDeleteNO im from hyderabad, my parents were born in hyderabad. my grandfathers where from nalgonda and warangal that makes me 100% telenganite
@Pavan Reddy
ReplyDeleteif you say you are 100% telanganite,
then you must be ashamed of
yourself.
@Sandeep
ReplyDeletethe matured decision is to fight for the rights and ensure we get what we want and that is development and upliftment, things that we couldnt do in the past cant be done in the future just cause we are parting ways.
NONE OF THE PPL WHO ARE SUPPORTING FOR A SEPERATE TELENGANA HAVE A CONCRETE PLAN OR PICTURE OF WHAT HAS TO BE DONE IN FUTURE IF SEPERATED. ALL THEY KNOW IS IF WE SEPERATED WE WILL GET FUNDS SPECIFICALLY FOR TELENGANA..
AND OUR BELOVED LEADERS WILL BECOME MILLIONAIRES ... WHAT WILL WE GET :)
GHANTA
Pavan Reddy,
ReplyDeleteGreat answers to that A and B conversation.
Conceding that Telangana’s only asset is Hyderabad, now the Andhras are going to deprive Telangana even of that one asset.
ReplyDeleteNo my friend, it is we the Hyderabadis who want it out. No one needs to help us!
To pavan,
ReplyDeleteA answers,
"I wanted to but you said since you earn and you will try to find me a job I have the right o go first ans Ialways got late. I served you by preparing breakfast ans food but you never cared for me except for utilizing my services. You never looked at me with any respect and always abused.
Yu sold all my property and gold and filled up your bank accounts by luring me and now you say I should start earning so that you can simply grab that earnings"
Sorry I have come to a conclusion that I will be weak if we stay united and will provide you all the services and advantages by giving up my time and resources for yur well being. So now I want to use my energies and services for my ownself. I want to take care of my ownself jsut like you are said now. This I dont think would be possible if we stay in marriage. I do not believe your words any more." Since you are living in this house with out paying rent(as a marriage partner) which is actually mine, you can stay here in future but only if you pay my rent.
I think thats all the end for our relationship.
Mr Anonymous Hyderabadi,
ReplyDeleteWhen were you born and where? Can you tell me?
Hello Sujai,
ReplyDeleteYou can conveniently pick and choose the facts the information to your needs. the times article that you quoted:
"Telangana is not economically viable. But we can't say that on the record," laments a Congress leader from Telangana.
Here's the link from times for the article mentioned by you:

No where in your blog you mentioned that.
Learn to be fair before you take a stand on one side.
Sravan,
ReplyDeleteWhat is your ASL? And also the reason why you want my ASL.

We will now make it viable.
Hi Sujai,
ReplyDelete"jor ka jhatka dheere se"
Kya shot mara boss!
Sujai,
ReplyDeleteYour comparision of universities is Surprising. Is there any university that macthes Hydedarabad Central Univ, IIIT hyderabad, Osmania, JNTU Hyderabad,REC Warangal anywhere in Andhra and Raayalaseema?
And an IIT was supposed to come at Basara, but will definitely come up in Hyd.
Andhra and Raayalaseema have few universities, but AU and SVU are no where when compared to the major ones in telangana.
You can complain of telangana's backwardness, but linking the universities is pointless.
@Anon,
If hyd goes to telangana, the exodus of investments is guaranteed. Vizag is the city suits the best for industry. I will not be surprised if all the new investments start going away to vizag.
The best way out of this mess is that hyd would be a UT for 15 years till andhrites build a capital, after this period hyd will go into telangana.
Having said that, we will have to forget about upcoming projects Hyderabad Metro Rail, Re-hash of hyderabad's drainage system.
It should be noted that from shangai to newyork, all the major cities have been coastal.
Bhanu Prasad:
ReplyDeleteHydedarabad Central Univ, IIIT hyderabad, Osmania, JNTU Hyderabad,REC Warangal anywhere in Andhra and Raayalaseema?
4 out of 5 of mentioned above are in Hyderabad. The question in the above post was – are you going to deprive us of all these making Telangana a hollow state? That’s what would happen if Telangana loses Hyderabad.
--That’s what would happen if Telangana loses Hyderabad--
ReplyDeleteTelangana would never lose hyderabad. May be you will loose it for 10-15 years till andhrites develop their own capital. After that it will be in your kitty. You need not worry about this.
Sujai is well educated but missing the important point.
ReplyDeletePlease compare telangana with regions which were very similar to it in 1948.
can someone do it ?
Can the compare the current telangana districts with the erstwhile Hyderabad state's districts in Karnataka/Maharashtra ?

I think they are better off than telangana districts other than hyderabad.
The Upper Krishna Project has completed its I Phase and the second phase already begun and about to be completed next year.
Where as SRP project in telangana is the sole project and which is still in the phase -I for last several decades. Do you remember how Karnataka won over AP on Almatti issue. Almatti dam would provide irrigation and hyder power in these very regions.
Now these districts are also enjoying industrial growth in diverse sectors.
Coming to Maharahstra Aurangabad is a leading city. Have you seen nanded district how developed it is? I would say several times better than so called developed states in telangana.
Do not fool yourself with this kind of imagination.
Irrigation the supreme courts decision on Babli project is the main reason why YSR began this so called jalayagnam because we have time constraints to make utilize the godavari water wasting into ocean. Even now the andhra are planning to make that utilized in their region by diverting it? Kudos
Picture is clear,
Andhra people never allowed any kind of projects that help telangana people.
They only ventured here for profits nothing else.
The people of Telangana have to stop looking up to Sonia. We have to come out of our slave mentality. We need to think in terms of driving out the Andhra regime from our region. Only then will Telangana be achieved. She will not do it for us. We need to take lessons from the Kashmiri's. The recent agitation has frightened the Indians. The same way, we need to stop all movement at the borders of Andhra and Rayalaseema. Make life hell for Andhras who have taken up jobs in Public sector units and state govt. jobs, which should have been rightfully ours. Force these units to give jobs to the locals. Instead of committing suicides, we should be brave to
ReplyDeletetake lathis, and bullets. We should target the Andhra MP's and MLA's in Hyderabad. Don't allow them to move freely here. Always make attempts to raid the Assembly in large numbers, when in session. Make it impossible for them to function. Same with every govt. department. Make the govt. employees of Andhra region feel unwanted here.
I don't know if this will work or not, but we should collect funds from our own people and try to build check dams over Godavari and tributaries. Ask for funds from all over the world. Attempting to build some small barrages will fire up our people, like the salt satyagraha. We should make attempts in those lines constantly, even if we fail every time. But we should never give up. I think these acts will be a big slap on the face of the Indian govt.
On week ends we should turn out in large numbers and plant trees. Let us increase the forest cover of our region. Let not these Andhras destroy it. We need to boycott every product produced by Andhras. We need to make our own things, like it happened during the Independence struggle.
Lets force the new airport to close for some days, by demanding proper compensation to the people who lost their lands. They got peanuts. And force the GMR to put in Telangana people as its work force. I find the majority are Andhras. Dont allow these people to go to do their work. The best of all and its very important, remove the Airport name and let us rename it as Telangana Airport. It will send shivers down Sonia and her children. The Gandhi/Nehru family have done nothing for Telangana. They have cheated us.
Let us help all the people who have lost their lands for the so called hitech city. they were paid peanuts. We are too passive. Unless we help each other, this agitation will go on and on for ever.
Congress has cheated us and even TDP. The way KCR is reacting and behaving, we are in for a big shock, like in '69. We are in for a sell out. But till we achieve our goal we have to support TRS and make sure he doesnt deceive. We dont have a choice, as there is no one in sight who can lead us.
Let us be positive and constructive in our fight for Telangana not destructive. Let us create opportunities for the poor, employment etc. How? i don't know. Unless we involve, the daily labour who work as coolies and farm labour, we'll get crushed again. let this movement be for a change for the whole country. It should give a new meaning to our democracy, more participation of the people, not just at the election time.
