New Year’s Eve
This year, hopefully, we will get our Telangana. On the New Year’s Eve, students and many supporters of Telangana held all night vigil (called ‘Jagarana’) in Osmania University, Kakatiya University, and other places. They held lighted candles and listened to Telangana ballads and speeches the whole night. Those who oppose Telangana Movement hoped that Telangana protestors would disturb the New Year celebrations. They wanted the world to know how unruly, uncouth and barbaric the Telangana protestors were. Much to their disappointment, New Year celebrations went down peacefully.
Maha Garjana
The ‘mighty roar’ of Telangana students went off peacefully on 3rd January 2010. Anywhere between 80,000 to 200,000 students turned up at Arts College of Osmania University. These students came in from different parts of Telangana. Many students were stopped by police from entering the city and yet the turnout was huge. This few hours event went peacefully much to the dismay of those who wanted to see violence so that they can discredit the movement.
The students called for a separate Telangana. Some of them asked the student body not to trust even the Telangana politicians, and asked the students to keep the struggle on till we attain Telangana.
Revivalism
We are seeing a spate of Telangana ballads and songs on TV these days, thanks to Telangana Movement. We see Gaddar-like singers singing the political, economic and social messages, inspiring millions around Telangana. We are not happy just with clichés like ‘kalasi unte kaladu sukam’ (we will be happy if we are together). Instead we sing ‘amaraveerulaku johaar’, dedicated to our forefathers who have laid lives for the cause of our people. Little girls sing the songs of deprivation, wretchedness, the sorry plight of Telangana people. The songs move anyone who understands them, bring tears into your eyes, and make you sing and dance to them. Some Andhras continue to describe them cheap and silly.
However, Telanganas are no longer ashamed of singing their songs and speaking their dialect. Now they do so with pride. They do so even on the podiums in public rallies.
Animosity towards Andhras
For nearly sixty years now Telangana has endured discrimination, marginalization and domination from Andhras within the united state of Andhra Pradesh, and yet, if you recount the entire number of reprisals or violent attacks, you can hardly count them on your fingers. People of Telangana, though averse to living in the same state with Andhras, do not carry so much spite that they would actually resort to direct violence.
And yet, in the last thirty days, the animosity towards Andhras is only growing, thanks to delay tactics employed by proponents of Samaikya Andhra to stop Telangana from happening. The reason for this growing hatred and animosity lies squarely with the politicians of Andhra and people of Andhra who are opposing the formation of Telangana.
More the delay more the animosity. There is no need for that.
Message to everyone
To Andhras
Give up Telangana to Telanganas immediately. Give up Hyderabad to Telanganas immediately. No Telangana person is eyeing any of your cities or your assets. They just want to start a journey on their own – making their own state. They have waited for that to happen for fifty three years now. Think big. Respect it. And allow it to happen. You will not lose anything though you think that way. The more you delay it or the more you stop it, the more there will be animosity in this region. That is not good in the near term or in the long run. Why stop the inevitable?
To Andhra Settlers
As any immigrant you have not bothered to understand the region called Telangana. You were only interested in your well-being and well-being of your city called Hyderabad. But now Telangana is going through a crisis. Where do you stand? Do you sympathize with your Andhra brothers of Andhra region who don’t want to give up Telangana? Or do you sympathize with your new found home which is linked to the fate of people of Telangana?
Yes, I understand you never got a chance to understand what this guy from Warangal wants. You find him alien. But please understand that he finds you alien too. So, instead of debating who is alien, whether an Andhra person settled in Hyderabad for 10 years or whether Warangal goon coming to Hyderabad for the first time, it’s better that you reconcile to the fact that this city is linked to region for far longer than your 10-year stay. And this city is beacon of hope for this region. And whether you like it or not you are part of it. Now, it’s time for you to make your stand clear.
I have heard a sane voice from a person settled in Hyderabad who has come out and said, yes I have understood the case of Telangana and therefore I support it.
The highlight of Thursday was the presence of K. Prasuna representing the ‘settlers’ at the relay hunger strike camp. Ms. Prasuna maintained that many of those who settled in Hyderabad but hail from other regions want Telangana to be a separate State.
Amidst lusty cheers and clapping, Ms. Prasuna said those who have settled in Hyderabad want to live in Telangana only, though they might have relations with other regions. “This would not make any difference even if the State is bifurcated. We can live peacefully here,” Ms. Prasuna told the gathering.
I request others to do the same. However, we completely respect your right to differ from our opinion. And the law of the land should protect you. We will ensure it is protected.
To Telanganas
This is directed specially to the leaders of Telangana. Stop making threats. We don’t want to go down that path. We can’t sow such seed of hatred. I will be the first guy criticizing you once you form new government. Will you call me a traitor then? Stop these threats now.
People of Telangana, don’t encourage our leaders to make those threats. Yes, it may feel good for momentarily, but it is not sustainable force. It will lead to a bad Telangana.
To others:
You may think we have bad leaders. But remembers this, bad leaders can be removed. The leaders you see now may not even rule us. But a separate Telangana will not stop because you think it has bad leaders or because the region is growing in animosity.

Sujai,
ReplyDeleteThere are other sane voices too, but they are submerged by the samaikyandhra nonsense. Andhra controlled media does not allow these voices to come up.
A settlers front was formed Oct 18, 2008 (Sundarayya Vignana Kendram, Bahlingampally) and they've stood for separate Telangana.
Since then, they've met many times, at ECIL, Yusuf Guda, Dilkushnagar, Vanasthalipuram, Chanda Nagar, KPHB and got all the settlers together to support formation of Telangana.
This is what they have to say:
"As this mother land (TELANGANA) have invited us with great love and effections and made a common platform to live with unity and peace. Then how and when we can convey our tribute to this motherland which respected us and given us a prosperous life. Separate Telangana state is not just a political embrassed voice, it has its own history depending upon socio-economic, cultural facts."
This is most likely a very large-group, representing 10's of Lakhs of settlers in Telangana.
The problem is this: The settlers are for Telangana, only the Andhras NOT IN Telangana are for Samaikyandhra.
Here is another sane voice from Andhra:

So what do we do to achieve a separate state, Telangana State will become a reality when we endanger the existence of all political parties opposed to the Telangana state and show the aggressors that the region can no longer be exploited. We can do this in several ways
ReplyDelete1. If your MLA/MP is against Telangana State write a letter to the speaker of the assembly/lok sabha informing him/her that the people of the constituency have no faith in the elected representative and that he/she no longer represents the constituency
2. Each individual should write a post card to the President of India, the Prime Minister and Sonia Gandhi demanding Telangana State
3. In giving your address write Telangana and not Andhra Pradesh
4. Prevail upon the Andhras and Rayalseema people you know to support Telangana State and if they do not do so boycott them. This treatment should be meted out to all who oppose Telangana state
5. As far as possible do not patronize shops and business establishments owned by Andhras and Rayalseema people
6. Do not let out your premises to the Andhras and Rayalseema people and if you have them as tenants politely ask to vacate your premises immediately
Remember the future of our children and the next will depend on what we do today.

ReplyDeleteWe will think of letting you share Hyderabad.... ONLY if
1. you send us free grains from your state for FREE....
2. You let us share Tirupathi as a 'Shared City' too.
3. you give up the port city of Visakhapatnam to us for total control and use.
Else... F*** OFF and build your own capital!
Proposals:
ReplyDelete1. Civil disobedience from ALL SECTORS and all areas of Telangana.
2. Boycott of everything 'Andhra'.
3. Change you addresses with all institutions, banks, employers and relatives and give 'Telangana' instead of 'Andhra Pradesh'.
4. Be very polite and sweet to the Andhras, so much so that they get uncomfortable with the sugar coated words. Use their weapon on them!
5. Dont pay any state taxes. Buy all your goods from sabzi mandi on the streets or get stuff from neighboring states.
6. Do not travel to any non-Telangana region till we get the T-state officially. Let their tourism suffer.
Telangana belongs to every telugu person on this planet.
ReplyDeleteHyderabad belongs to every telugu person on this planet.
Tirupati belongs to every telugu person on this planet.
Karimnagar belongs to every telugu person on this planet.
Vizag belongs to every telugu person on this planet.
Telangana language is a result of Nizam's urdu domination over native telugu speaking people in telangana region.
ReplyDeleteAs long as telanganites speak telangana language, their minds are still under the control of Nizam's rule. So, all telanganites should rediscover their mother telugu language roots and boycott telangana language.
Telangana belongs to every telugu person on this planet.
ReplyDeleteThats like saying 'Britain belongs to every English speaking person on this planet'.
Get back your senses and wake up.

Just because you speak telugu, you cannot claim Telangana.
Proposals:

2. Every Telanganaite should hoist an Indian flag with Telangana flag attached, on their homes and shops.
3. When the enw state forms, teach HINDI as first language in ALL SCHOOLS. Telangana and English being the second languages.
Hi!
ReplyDeleteI am from a different state and moved to Hyderabad 8 yrs ago.
It is very evident from the working class in Hyderabad (making less than 10K per month) that Telangana will remain their wish. But, the white-collared-class in banks and workplaces dismisses away everything saying its a political game.
Well, I beg to differ with them on this. The more they drag this issue, they will be taking hyderabad down the drain.
When it is on every person's mind, why should the rest of AP impose themselves shamelessly on this region? Their greed comes out naked when you see any talk show on TV. How can they ask for a city that doesn't fall into their region?
Am from Andhra Region and I think the Samakya Andhra is/should be employed as a ploy to get Justice done for New Andhra Rashtram.
ReplyDeleteBefore we know what are the terms of seperation its futile to acknowledge Telanagana as seperate state.
There are many Andhra people who since Jai Andhra moment are for seperate Telangana, so once the terms of seperation are clear the formation of Telangana is a done deal, until the the Samyka Andhra Agitation should go on..
Why did the govenment cut off eletricity all over Telangana during Vidyarthi Garjana Meeting in Hyderabad?
ReplyDeleteIs it not supression of freedom of speech?
Unfortunate but we are not seeing much difference between british ruling india and andhraites ruling telangana!
It is acts like this that boil the blood. High-court lets them meet, but Roshiah decides no one will know there were 2 lack students meeting for Telangana in Hyderabad.
The peaceful protest of 200,000 thousand students is a sign that people of telangana are ready for a separate state. Not sure if the politicians are ready but the future leaders are ready. Its time for "Telangana" the 29th state of India.
ReplyDeleteBelieve in Democracy.
From Indian Express:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.indianexpress.com/news/telangana-gets-naxal-twist/563542/
Ahead of the all-party meeting on the Telangana issue tomorrow, the security establishment is learnt to have made it known to the political leadership that smaller states have so far only benefited the Maoists and this should be factored in while taking any such step in Andhra Pradesh.
To Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteThis is just another cruel plot framed by the andhra lobby supported by its steasdfast media.
While Maoist s have long been pressing on separate telangana it did not help them much in improving their cader. Like always, telangana people have chosen a democratic means by taking support from a political party rather than a revolutionary anti-democratic party like Maoist.
Gloryifying the Maoists best helps the andhra than any body else. Its is clear that the media is just trying to purport the peoples' peaceful movement as a radical one.
Hats off to devious andhra plans. This clearly shows their ship is sinking

Don’t underestimate the deviousness of Andhra politicians. They cited similar reasons to coerce Telangana into joining Andhra Pradesh in 1956. They lobbied hard in New Delhi against formation of a separate Telangana though many Telangana leaders favored a separate state.
They cited the reasons that Muslims would dominate this new state making it another Muslim dominated-state (other than Kashmir). They also said that this would create another non-Congress state (because Communists were in majority in this region).
Now, they say that Telangana would be ruled by Maoists. And believe it or not, they may be able to pull it off – since they have succeeded so many times in the past.
Don’t underestimate them.
I didn't knew Indian Express was run by Andhras and that Telangana people are not hired.
ReplyDeleteFunny how you guys make anyone who is against break up of state as a devious Andhra person. Yet you selectively quote from the media when any news is supportive to break up.
Devious who?
What is fate of Khammam when seperate telangana is formed. Because in 1956 Khammam was formed by taking two taluqs from East Godavari which is part of costal Andhra, I think we should let it go back to East Godavari. We don't need to ask for land that does not belong to us.
ReplyDeleteSujai, could you please remove 'A** *****'your tag line in your blog.
ReplyDeletemay be you can replace 'A** *****' with 'Armpit'
Khammam was carved out from Warangal district, 5 taluks. Later, 2 revenue divisions from EG were added in 1959.
ReplyDeleteNews from Bhadrachalam:
ReplyDeleteWith the demand from some quarters that Bhadrachalam be merged with East Godavari district in the event of state’s bifurcation, people of the temple town oppose it as they want let to be associated with Telangana where they have been living for 52 years. They allege that for 52 years Andhras have not bothered about their welfare and ridiculed their demand.
They also point out that even as the famous Bhadrachalam temple was built by Ramadasu, who worked as tahsildar under Nizam nawabs, the area should remain with Telangana.
Guys,
ReplyDeleteHope you can sort this out peacefully among yourselves.
If you absolutely cannot, can you restrict yourselves to blocking trains that originate in Andhra/ Rayalaseema/ Telangana/ any other region that you want to be united /separated / time shared/ frequency muxed / whatever.
Please spare the rest of us and allow us to atleast transit thru the state/states.

Guys,
ReplyDeleteRelax. In Jan 5th meeting, Central govt. has almost equated telangana student's movement with maoists' involvement. For now, telangana state creation has been put on hold indefinitely in the name of "Mechanism for Further Consultations with all stakeholders".
In this entire process, Chidambaram has learnt the art of giving statements, which can give positive hopes for both the sides.
Outcome of the Jan5th meeting:
* Peace/harmony/normalcy is required to move forward to solve this issue
* Parliamentary democracy is under threat (means Maoists taking over)
* All parties agreed in favor of setting up a mechanism for further consultations.
In the end the statements are same as the one's made by YSR in assembly: "In principle in favor of Telangana. But a committee should be formed to study the issues of all the stakeholders"
Telangana state will not be formed in the near future. Already the center is ready to implement Narisimhan-President's rule.
Atleast for time being there will be a break for sometime from all these hatred speeches between telugu people. Now, the same people who spread hatred among telugu people have to sit together and talk. Thatswhy hatred never works in democracy to build consensus.
In Jan 5th meeting, Central govt. has almost equated telangana student's movement with maoists' involvement.
ReplyDeleteThat is the worst way to quell a voice of 4 crore people. Calling them Maoists. What will India do next? Put the 4 crore people behind bars?
Atleast for time being there will be a break for sometime from all these hatred speeches between telugu people.
Wrong Conclusion. Now the people of Telangana will intensify their struggle for separate State.
Now, the same people who spread hatred among telugu people have to sit together and talk.
Talking with Andhras on Telangana issues is like rape victim talking to the rapist.
Thatswhy hatred never works in democracy to build consensus.
Delaying this is not in the best interest of the region. Hatred will only increase if Telangana creation is delayed.
Wake up for your rights!
ReplyDeleteStart a civil disobedience movement.
Will they start calling all telanganites Maoists?
Do they have room in their jails for 4 crore people?
Do they have it in them to continue their governance if ALL MLAs, MLCs, ZP and govt. officials from Telangana RESIGN?
If they call every decent and educated person a 'naxalite', how do they expect the telangana people to not utter a single word in disagreement and anger?
Are we Naxalites? Did we use weapons? Did we attack them in forests? Did we break laws?
We are asking for self-governance AFTER 6 decades of eager wait and tolerance.... coz the jalayagnam is a sham ... they are looting us over and over...
Call to ALL employees in state-govt offices, PLEASE RESIGN!
Call to ALL teachers and teachers-unions... PLEASE RESIGN!
Call to all RTC, Railways and other departments, .... PLEASE RESIGN!
Call to all MLAs, MLCs and ZPs... PLEASE RESIGN!

ReplyDeleteEveryone leading the movement should always follow strict principles of (no hatred speeches) and (no violence acts creating fear among people).
How can you build consensus, when peace is replaced by hatred and violence??
How can you bypass all the stakeholdes of Andhra Pradesh without building consensus and demand for a parliament bill??
Without consensus and consultations, nothing happens in democracy, especially on issues of national importance like Telangana.
You have no other option than talking to Andhras to build consensus.
If you don't believe in democracy, you have to take a call.
Anonymous:
ReplyDeleteEveryone leading the movement should always follow strict principles of (no hatred speeches) and (no violence acts creating fear among people).
It is desirable that no hate speeches are made and no violent acts are perpetrated in a movement. Having said that, not all movements on the planet could adhere to that. Just read history. You will find that peaceful movements are actually rare exceptions. Peace/non-violence is desirable, but not a necessary condition for a movement.
How can you build consensus, when peace is replaced by hatred and violence??
Why do we need consensus within the state to divide a state? If a bully has bullied a small boy for over sixty years, wherein the bully has flouted all agreements, broke all promises, and even revoked legal verdicts, what sense does it make to sit across and talk?
In fact, Indian Constitution has taken care of such instances and ensured that India can address such situations by an Act of Parliament instead of going to State Assembly. Right now, that’s what we need to do, an Act of Parliament to create Telangana. We don’t think we need to sit across with Andhras to create Telangana. That would be foolish.
How can you bypass all the stakeholdes of Andhra Pradesh without building consensus and demand for a parliament bill??
Why not? Most states in India were created by an Act of Parliament bypassing consensus building within a state.
Without consensus and consultations, nothing happens in democracy, especially on issues of national importance like Telangana.
You are completely wrong on this. There is no need to bring consensus and consultation between the victim and the perpetrator when someone is raped by a rapist, even in a democracy like India. Telangana is not a national important issue. It is the issue of Telanganas who feel suppressed, oppressed, discriminated and marginalized in a unified state that is dominated by majority Andhras.
You have no other option than talking to Andhras to build consensus.
We will get Telangana without building consensus with Andhras and we will follow Indian Constitution for that.
If you don't believe in democracy, you have to take a call.
We believe in democracy while fighting for Telangana.
Democracy does not mean we have to convince upper castes to dole out sops to lower castes. A decision can be made without getting a go ahead from upper castes. Democracy does not mean women have to create a consensus with men to get their rights.
Constitutional Democracy has enough safeguards to protect the minorities and underprivileged from the domination of majorities and privileged without have to build a consensus between the aggrieved and aggravator.
Consensus has to be reached between equals or when both parties wish to resolve the issue amicably. Last sixty years have suggested that all such talks eventually fail. Consensus can be reached where there is at least some degree of trust. Right now, we are not equals and we don’t trust Andhra politicians.
We still believe that Indian Democracy is a just democracy; and that it will allow the aspirations of Telangana to take shape within the confines of Indian Constitution without have to bow down to the blackmail of majority and privileged Andhras.
Suddenly Idler gets wise.
ReplyDeleteBecause Temple in Badrachalam built by a Tasildar in Nizam rule automatically comes in Telangana despite it being originally in East Godavari District (it was joined to Khammam only after formation of Andhra Pradesh) .
Same applys for Hyderabad Idler. It was developed by people and rulers of Andhra, and Rayalaseema as well so they can claim according to your wise thoughts
Mr. Sujai & co.
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog & Comment's section with great interest though I've not commented many times.
Your tone is becoming increasingly bitter & harsh as days are passing by. Mr. Idler is repeatedly mocking all commentators & appears to have no ears for those who wish to differ.
This is not a healthy sign. I respect your intellect. I've also gone through your previous non-telangana articles & they reflect a very matured understanding of world.
But you've become like another intellectual of Jinnah of united AP, using your intellect in wrong direction. Now its universally accepted fact that Telangana has not received its due. Nobody denies that outright.
Also, kindly check your comparisons. Till now, its was Britishers Vs Indians (this itself is very unreasonable)...now is rapist vs victim analogy...This is highly deplorable.
Kindly understand that many Telangana people are getting inspired by you. If highly educated persons like you use such emotionally high-pitched language what message are you sending to your followers?
You are extrapolating this issue to unseen & unexpected levels. And also you appear suffer from selective vision. In the very same Garjana who speak so highly of, people were threatening Andhras not to return back to Hyd after Sankranti if Telagana favourable decision is not arrived at. This they were crying hoarse.
You're acting like a typical politician who exaggerates all the favourable arguments while downplaying unfavourable ones. Using some twisted logic (& ur genius) u are sometimes arriving impossible conclusions.
Already you seem to have convinced others that Andhra guys are looters whose sole aim of life had been to exploit Telangana & enrich their areas.
Also with some vague logic you're arguing for Hyd belonging to Telangana first & AP next. Maybe thats true. Yet, by your own admission you've said the migration has been more into Telangana than other-way round.
Pl understand, here we have a very peculiar case, unseen in history (sorry, none of your examples have this range of complexity involved). Andhra settlers came in huge numbers, sold off their properties in Andhra to settle in Hyd only because they felt they're living within same state. If Telangana is formed, they're strangers in their own land.
We beg to differ from your analogy that living in Hyd is same as living in B'lore or Chennai. No. People who migrate there are amply sure of the fact that they're guests in a foreign land. But we had been thinking of Hyd as our own city. Now you want to enjoy the readymade splendor of Hyd, which was built on sweat of those Andhra settlers whom you so fashionably vile now.
No city in AP rivals Hyd even in remotest sense. So wish to rob AP of its proud Capital just because you feel like enjoying readymade infrastructure for yourself all alone.
Let the statistics come out, yet, in Vizag, Vijaywada there has been no significant investment from Telangana...whereas in Hyd most of the investment has been from Andhra..Just look around & spot any big companies..Most of them belong to Andhras.
If they really had intentions of plundering you, why would they invest here. They would have invested them elsewhere. My point is that most of the deprivation was not a deliberate plot. It just happened.
Its like in Australia if some Indian gets killed it immediately attracts racial colour, whereas the fact would have also been that somebody just wanted money & killed randomly.
They also point out that even as the famous Bhadrachalam temple was built by Ramadasu, who worked as tahsildar under Nizam nawabs, the area should remain with Telangana.
ReplyDeleteWe also point out:
In 1512, the Kingdom of Golconda or Hyderabad was founded by one Sultan Quli Qutub Shah. The Kingdom of Golconda included krishna district within its limits. Abu-l-Hussain Shah was the last of Qutab Shahi dynasty known as Tanisha. He had two ministers, both Brahmins, named Akkanna and Madanna. For some reasons they fixed their office at Vijayawada. Popular tradition attributed this preference of Vijayawada to the devotion of the two ministers to the goddess Kanaka Durga.
NIZAMS: The Emperor Aurangazeb included Krishna district in the province of Golconda, which remained under Asaf jah who was appointed as Subedar or Viceroy of the Deccan in 1713 with the tittle of Nizam-ul-Mulk. The province of Golconda comprised five Nawabs’ charges viz. Arcot, Cuddapah, Kurnool, Rajahmundry and Chicacole (Srikakulam). The Nawab of Rajahmundry ruled the country induced in the Krishna District.
If you go back to Qutb Shahis and Moghals era not only people from Badhrachalam but whole andhra region was under qutb Shahis...should whole andhra remain with Hyderabad now??

Our andhra region is devided from Hyderabad for some 200 years..and we are again connceted for more than 60 years now! and these 60 years are so crucial!
I had already stated once that since the hatred has been spread even at grassroot levels, partition is better.
ReplyDeleteBut kindly understand even if Telangana is formed, & u successfully deprive Andhras of Hyd, we still are neighbors with common language.
In future too, we need to stay peacefully & an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind as Gandhiji said. You defend all actions of these aggressors & lastly in one small line condemn them just as reporters do to spice up their facts.
I'm sure that you might be able to come up with some abstract arguments to counter us here..
As regards your argument of treating telangana ppl as bafoons in films, this is equally true of all dialects...This must be taken in lighter vein & not seriously.
Sardarjis are made fun of everywhere, but this is not to degrade them.. Idler repeatedly makes fun of all variant commentators, but as long as he does so in non-derogatory manner its acceptable.
I don't recall telangana dialect being spoken in derogatory manner, its just for some comedy. FYI, E. Godavari slang & Srikakulam slang is even more made fun of...(well, now I'm sure you'll come to your collective-bias theory, but in films too such bias exists there's no point to take exception to that)
Brother, don't generate so much hatred. I think if you're open to listen, then through experts opinion we might arrive at better results.
Let Telangana be given a separate budget which can be used wholly for Telangana's development without any interference from Andhras. Also, we can make it mandatory to have atleast some suitable proportion of Cabinet Ministers from Telangana.
We can also make it mandatory that those speaking of telangana in inappropriate manner in public would be liable to fine & punishment too if necessary. We can easily force our Film Industry to take notice of the differences & be more sensitive abt slang concerns.(if thats ur concern)
See, you're such an educated fellow. Did you feel regret over scoring better than your classmates since you're more intelligent? No, its open for all competition, all can participate.
Since, Telangana is backward, we can easily issue some reservation & quotas which should be adhered to. If we educate people soon they'll come to realize the ambitions of nation & drive us all towards peace & prosperity.
Make a special Deputy CM post which would be reserved for Telanganas until a period of 30 years.
Since you've shown your power, people will take notice of u, & mistakes won't be repeated. I daresay nobody will dare to openly challenge Telangana again since you have shown up your collective spirit.
I can understand your agony over the non-development of certain areas of Telangana, but I'm very much against your systematic veiled covert attacks on Andhras by justifying their aggressive acts with just a small disclaimer that it shouldn't have happened.
We shall soon change the name of AP as Telangana-Andhra, or Telugu Nadu, or even Telangana (anyway it means land of telugu speaking ppl)
Your own demands can be met within united telugu state.
Madhav,
ReplyDeleteI feel things would be lot easier if both the parties calm down a bit. People from Andhra need to come out of the denial mode and accept the inevitability of the Telangana state. Further resistance would not help. Telangana has been fighting for decades and has not happened in the last one month. All the parties have agreed to the demand in the last 10 years. Telangana people are not in a state to let go off the opportunity at this stage. I also feel that Telangana leaders should stop scaring tactics and make the Andhra settlers(sorry if that is considered a derogatory word) feel safe in Telangana.
*Now you want to enjoy the ready made splendor of Hyd, which was built on sweat of those Andhra settlers whom you so fashionably vile now.
Hyderabad is a 400 year old city and was one of the richest cities in the world when it joined Indian Union. Hyderabad was also miles ahead of Vizag or Vijayawada in terms of infrastructure then. It had the ready made splendor in 1956 and that was the reason it was made capital. It had gone through its natural growth it deserved over the past 50 years as one of the biggest cities in India. I conceive, completely attributing the development to Andhra settlers is ridiculous. If I put it in your terms it was built with the sweat of Telangana people for 350 years and with the sweat of Andhra and Telangana people for another 50 years. Even if Telangana was made a separate state according to 1st SRC, Hyd would have seen more or less the same development. Having said all this I agree that Andhra people are contributors to Hyd city for the last 50 years. Andhra people I mean here are, not just the people from Andhra in Hyderabad. Andhra need to be compensated appropriately with a package to develop a new capital for Andhra.
*If Telangana is formed, they're strangers in their own land.
I know there have been some bitter statements by the Telangana leaders which made the Andhra people unsafe in Hyderabad. But this is temporary. Many of us Telanganites do not condone this act. I feel that they can live in the same way in Telangana state also as they are living now. Any commoner will not feel a difference. It will be a problem to only those people who enjoyed clout in the combined state govt. Why would they be strange people in Hyd of Telangana when they are not strangers now? Why do they not want to be associated with Telangana state?
The unstoppable Telangana juggernaut gains momentum
ReplyDeleteThe outcome of the all party meeting on Telangana is but a small setback in the journey for a separate state. The talks have laid bare the ugly truth, the opposition to Telangana is the status of Hyderabad, the five centuries old capital of the region. The Andhra and Rayalseema exploiters are willing to let go of Telangana if Hyderabad is made a joint capital or a Union Territory.
All talk of a united Andhra is nothing but eyewash to keep exploiting Hyderabad. These people have in collusion with successive Andhra and Rayalseema led governments in the state illegally acquired large tracts of land in and around Hyderabad. Ramalinga Raju is the biggest example of this greed and even the powers in Delhi know the real reason behind Lagdapati’s dramabaazi, is the prospect of the Telangana Government seizing the illegal lands occupied by him.
Let the nation and our antagonists know that Telangana with its 10 districts including Hyderabad is non-negotiable. And we the people of Telangana are willing to lay down our lives for this.
Telangana Garjana was the first step in the third and final agitation for a separate state and the voice raised continues to echo across the region. I personally applaud the grit and courage shown by students of the government school in Medak who wrote “Jai Telangana” on the answer sheets and handed it over to the teachers without writing the half-yearly examinations. The elders are not to be left behind people in their 60’s and 70’s from the Telangana Retired Employees, Teachers and Workers’ Welfare Mission, have resolved to actively participate in the separatist agitation till a State is achieved.
When the will of the people is with us can Telangana state be far behind.

ReplyDeleteI dont know weather Hyd would have been same or not if it wasn't merged with Andhra..but i am sure Vijayawada or Vizag would have a different fate if we ware not merged with Telangana. Film industry would have come to Vijayawada or Vizag, Software industry or BPO's would have come to our cities because its not only about city its about infrastructure, and what is infrastrucuture? Professionals, IT succeeded in AP along with Bangalore is because we have more IT professionals then other Cities..since most IT professionals are from Andhra region compenies would have established their offices in our Capital City...Business comes where ever the demand is thus Andhra would have a better chance getting IIPMs, NIFT, Corporate offices, Malls etc.
you are bothered only on Hyderabad history...but we are bothered about Hitech cities, malls, Film cities etc..once we get such development in our region too...we wouldnt even stare @.
I think there should be a timeline until we get a city considerably equal to Hyd then no one from andhra would bother at all for the division...people who ever settled in Hyd would dicide their fate...but leaving all this overnight decitions distrubed andhra region.
Madhav,
ReplyDeleteI know you made the suggestions with a good intention, but considering the history they seem like another devious plot. The suggestions made by you were the actual basis for the merger of the states in 1956. The very reason for the movement of Telangana state is the violation of those promises made to Telangana people.
Please see the below link for Gentlemen's agreement.

I didn't knew Indian Express was run by Andhras and that Telangana people are not hired.
ReplyDeleteFunny how you guys make anyone who is against break up of state as a devious Andhra person. Yet you selectively quote from the media when any news is supportive to break up.
Devious who?
Answer anyone?
Sujai:
ReplyDelete////////
We will get Telangana without building consensus with Andhras and we will follow Indian Constitution for that.
////////////
The above thing will happen only when you become the home minister of India. Till that time, please wait.
Democracy has no meaning without building consensus on issues. Even NDA, formed three new states Jharkand, Chattigarh, Uttarchal, only after getting the resolutions passed in their assembly.
Sujai, out of your desperateness for Telangana, don't spread lies here. Spreading disinformation to telangana people is dangerous.
///Pranab Mukherjee, latest statement:
ReplyDeleteDec 9th statement was issued only because of the worry that KCR might die.////
My opinion:
Telangan state will be formed only building consensus. And there is no timelimit for this consensus process.
Telangana movement without building consensus will become like a Kashmir separatist movement (in terms of violence and hatred only).
/////
ReplyDeleteYou have no other option than talking to Andhras to build consensus.
If you don't believe in democracy, you have to take a call. /////
Anonymous,
Telangana people have been voicing their opinions on a continuous basis. They went to the last 2 general elections voting on this issue. In the 2009 elections, the mandate was clear, and vote split among all parties that stood for Telangana. A recent straw poll in the region gives an overwhelming 93% YES to Telangana.
There were many appeals by the Telangana intellectuals to Andhra people to discuss this issue through. But, being in majority, the Seemandhra guys lived in denial and brushed off the T-issue calling it 'separatist' and now, 'maoist' movement.
Our appeal to the AU students and others in their seemandhra JAC (of which, not one member is from Telangana!) is to come out of their denial.
If the political parties fail us, we will seek justice through the supreme court... and may be, at some point even the international courts for justice.
Stop crying over spilt milk. Even now, the Telangana JAC is willing and ready for Talks... ONLY AFTER A TIMEFRAME IS ANNOUNCED AND A BILL IS PROPOSED IN THE PARLIAMENT.
We have had enough of the drama from you guys. Please stop the non-sense.
Majority vs. minority is only in a Legislative assembly. Once the issue goes to the Parliament or to Supreme court, Justice to 1 person is the same as justice to the state... number of stakeholders is irrelevant in front of the courts.
Here is a story... a real story...
ReplyDelete(1956) A & B get into a conditional agreement of staying together. This happens after a lot of reluctance on part of B , lot of reservations and painful submission.
(1969) B wants to part ways as all agreements were violated and B feels marginalized and discriminated against. The movement is successfully CRUSHED. B loses 330 of her sons in the movement and not a mention is made of it.
(1972) This time, A wants to break the agreement. Indira Gandhi gives them a piece of her mind. That movement is crushed too.
(1956 - 2009) Natural resources of B are looted and diverted to A's regions, leaving the people of B disappointed and poor. There are very few educational institutions in B -region. People's dissent is increasing many fold, but the A rulers fail to notice or act on it.
(2000) Drought situations in B 's region start a series of suicides by poor farmers and worksmen.
(2001) B has a regional party form with the single point agenda of moving out of the agreement. A laughs at the party and its agenda.
(2004) B becomes a major issue in the general elections. B -people support splitting up. However, the CM from A -region washes away his promise during elections and formulates a plan to loot B before it is too late. Jalayagnam is proposed. meanwhile, A still laughs at the idea of splitting up, thinking it will never happen.
(2009) All parties support splitting up and all parties split the vote in B - region. The people in A live in denial, they believe that a 'split' will never really happen. They mock at anyone who talks about splitting up.
dec-2009:
A series of events gain momentum in the B -region for a split, people collectively get under one opinion of splitting up with A . A lives in denial till the govt. announces that a process will be initiated for the split.
A goes about burning buses saying its an emotional issue. A is in denial. A wants to stop B from leaving the agreement... by FORCING themselves on B .
B being over-powered by the majority, choses to start a mass gathering. The A -led govt disconnects power supply to avoid the B 's message from reaching its masses. A congregation of 2,00,000 young students is laughed away by A as a 'maoist' movement. 5,00,000 students are stopped at the city borders on their way to the meeting.
The international media and the national media fail to recognize a HISTORIC PUBLIC MEETING OF 2,00,000 STUDENTS WHO ARE ASSEMBLED TO FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHTS.
Are the human-rights activists sleeping?
Is this the end of democracy?
B is stuck in a forceful 'alliance' that they desperately want to break ... but, every attempt they make is being painted as 'maoist' and anti-unity.
In the whole story, A is still trying to have the last laugh by supressing, ignoring and mocking at wishes of B .
How do you think the neutral audience see this alliance of A & B ?
Dear Seema+ Andhra brothers,
Please get over your 'hangover' of domination over us. Please come out of your 'denial'. History tells us that the alliance is not working out for Telangana. Just try to get over it. the neutral spectators are laughing at your naked lust and greed for hyderabad and Telangana's waters.
It is your callous attitude and discriminative behaviour that has led us to this day.
Please let us live in our new state with dignity and pride and let us work on all our problems that the alliance failed to solve.
Else... wait for the supreme courts to make a decision on this.
@Bix,
ReplyDeleteI'm very much appreciative of your polite tone as against those here who ridicule those with different views. We can be polite as yet firm as you had been.
Yes, I stand corrected on my allegation that Hyd was developed by Andhra settlers alone. Yes, Hyd was already a big city by that time. I accept that.
But what was the trajectory of growth of Hyd till Chandrababu Naidu came into picture. It was normal growth. But since then, it had seen exponential growth..Are you going to deny that? Hyd had Charminar, Golconda & other historical places. But do they provide jobs? Jobs are provided by Industries which was boosted major way only after NCN changed it all.
I'm no supporter of NCN. He might have been extremely selfish guy, yet he did something very crucial for Hyd. Hi Tech city now provides so many jobs to thousands. Soon, we might see more & more development. After sufficient development all shall be powerful enough to resist any exploitation.
NCN developed Hyd at the denial of other parts of AP. DO you think he would have done so had he thought of plundering Telangana..That Hyd has become such a hot property is because of Hi Tech city & other IT & other industries and not because of some historical monuments.
We want to be associated with Telangana too. Most of us speak telangana slang in Hyd, we readily mingle with all telanganas. Most of us are against belittling others.
I accept that some bias has been there in film industry. We'll correct it soon.
Judging by the sheer hatred thats being spread, it appears that Telanganas will deprive Andhras of water as soon as its formed.
Soon, the arena will be transformed into a battle where each will be scoring some points against each other, leaving both with ashes in their mouth in the end.
If someone in family has behaved irresponsibly, we give him chance to improve & correct. Divorce is Western way of dealing with problems. Mutual compromise is the solution in India. (Mr Idler will come up with Madras eg now, but we did take back Tirupati from them & I feel we had been compensated.)
Lets not throw mud on each other & satisfy ourselves with the view that we're giving other fitting reply. We have already become laughing stock of India. A family may have many problems internally, but we don't lower the dignity by washing dirty linen in public.
I'm sure that given enough imagination & mutual respect we can change the scenario.

If supreme court got the power to bifurcate any state in India. Why you have been waiting for 50 yrs for telangana without going to supreme court??
Gorkhaland people would have already gone to supreme court??
Vidarba also same case.
Relax man, why r u so frustrated. There is a process you have to follow in democracy.
Since NDA has got good experience in dividing states, wait for NDA rule. If you don't believe in democracy and in Indian constitution, I don't know whats the other option you have??

Are you a constitutional expert? Or... Are you ranting away what your 'Andhra experts' of constitution blabbered on TV?
Just an FYI.... The parliament can send this issue to President, whereby, the president can order a supreme court bench to work through the issues... keeping the state under 'President Rule'.
The State boundaries in India are completely dissolvable.
There is nothing like 'AP boundaries' and AP BSF.
States (incl. AP) are not autonomous countries. They have to work within the Union, and follow the constitution.
Do you realise that the State assembly can be dissolved at a single stroke by accepting all pending resignations?
Do you know that 750 crores of loss to State govt. in riots (only from seemandhra) is reason enough for president's rule without re-elections?
Hey Madhav,
ReplyDeleteThats a sane argument. Thanks for not being patronising when arguing for samaikyandhra. Thats a change for me.
//NCN developed Hyd at the denial of other parts of AP.//
Is it? Lets look at it this way. Is bringing software or any other industry all abt promotion? history and monuments dont give jobs but they maybe they imply something else - of open culture. Do u seriously believe Vijaywada or Vizag or some other city wud have provided the cosmopolitan culture of Hyd for businessmen worldover to do their businesses? How can a culture which thrived on illusions of (andhra) supremacy be open and inviting? how many langugaes flourished in andhra cities unlike Hyd? urdu, hindi and english. And since which year in history did any city in andhra attract people from various parts of world, like Hyd? try naming one community which didnt exist in hyd of 50s. I hope i made the point. I do not at all deny what NCN did to promote the city (I am not his fand either). What i am pointing at is that HYD was apt for getting promoted as global city and he did just that. And i also do not deny Andhrites form significant manpower like those from the north and south. But to claim that these are done to 'develop' hyd is far-fetched. Hyd is the right place to be so they are here. It generated profit so they put business. Even if Telangana is realised, they will continue business, not because they are pro-telangana or anti-andhra but because they have the profits! Andhrites wud continue to live here because they have a good life. KCR, for all his chauvinism, wud keep his mouth shut abt them because they contribute positively. So wats the issue? An emotional feeling of getting disconnected?
@Amar,
ReplyDeleteBrother, most of the Andhrites are like that. Do you really feel that we're bloodsuckers out to exploit someone. We live on hard-earned money & take no delight in harassing others for our pleasure.
I don't deny that some politicians have wrongly used real-estate. They'll have to face the axe. We can institute a committee & sue all those who've illegally occupied lands. I'm sure for KCR's influence, he can easily manage that. Whosoever has inflicted injustice must be punished irrespective of his background. For all that we know, a middle-class family's ambition is to own a home. Do you think we can manage it in present Hyd with souring rates?
As far as my knowledge goes, Nizam plundered Telangana & severely inflicted pain here. From the below interview, its clear that Nizam was no just ruler as it is amply clear that injustice was indeed done to Telangana in AP.
{http://news.rediff.com/interview/2009/dec/31/andhra-crisis-telangana-ppl-treated-as-second-class-citizens-srinivas-raj.htm}
So, relatively in democratic setup, Telangana has also improved on many fronts (not proportionately though, one has to face it).
Chennai managed to accumulate much bigger industry despite not being even remotely as cosmopolitan as Hyd. So Vijaywada/Vizag would have been developed. Some ppl make fun of that fact that Kurnool centred Govt was in tents. Yes. But they would soon have become huge buildings had they been left such. It might have taken some 10 years even. Still we would have ultimately done that.
I accept that there might be no altruist concerns of Andhrites for settling up here. It certainly did make sense to build up business here than any small town. But do you deny that we all felt that Hyd was our own city? We're not same as other settlers. We belong here. We hate to be called settlers. We're very much a part of AP & never did we consider that one fine day we would be called exploiters/outsiders. Kindly look around this section for fabulous analogies. Britishers (Andhras) vs India....now its even worst ..Rapist vs victim...What kind of language is this? Rape is a horrible crime which degrades the self-respect of the person. Who committed such crime here?
What Andhra supremacy are you talking of brother? hardly 2 decades back we're all labelled Madrasis. Only recently we have made some inroads in IT & are becoming advanced. Andhra (or even telugu) supremacy is illusion only. We have long way to go before we can claim to be supreme. Else outside AP we would be called fools. Some ppl keep thinking such things. Doesn't mean we subscribe to it..We don't bother to correct it...thats all.
Yes, Andhras would continue living here. But just because our ancestors treated you badly, are you going to repay it to us with interest. You may not be saying that. But kindly listen to any speech here, one can be convinced of that..
Yes, you couldn't have put my position more correctly: Its the emotional feeling of getting disconnected. Its like living with a principle all the life, and suddenly being told that it was wrong.
Its like 2 nation theory. After being told that we all are one for years...suddenly someone says that was never the case throughout history. Yet, India is clear victor in this case, we still have sizable Muslim population who live in peace with us. Likewise, some politicians might be able to convince all, that we were different, yet thats not the case.
We can easily cooperate & coexist! Don't vile others! Do we hate Germany because it produced Hitler?
Mr. Idler is repeatedly mocking all commentators & appears to have no ears for those who wish to differ.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you take offense on behalf of others? Have I previously responded to you?
All commentors -- really? How many people commented and how many did I respond to? Considering that I didn't respond to you yet (which is 1 less than ALL), ALL is not a quantifier to be used, you are outright lying! :)
I did not respond to you - most importantly, coz you showed some maturity and understanding. You also demonstrated that you've done due diligence, taken time out to understand a bit of what the people of Telangana are trying to say. You were empathetic as well, as opposed to the insincerity shown by other commentors. I'm not sure what your specific questions were (if there were any) - but I thought you have a good head on your shoulders and will find out on your own.
This is not a healthy sign. I respect your intellect. I've also gone through your previous non-telangana articles & they reflect a very matured understanding of world.
Trying to force Sujai to meet your standards of acceptable behavior? Like forcing the people of Telangana to change their dialect when interacting with Andhra officials?
If they really had intentions of plundering you, why would they invest here.
A counter-example: British have also invested in many things -- roads, railways, ports, schools, education, etc. Specifically, Arthur Cottons engineering resulted in a lot of wealth creation in Andhra and still continues. Using your logic, British had no intentions of plundering you either. In fact, Govt of India added very little to the infrastructure built by British for a very long time.
The problem with your sentence is: You are misrepresenting the position of Telangana, you sentence assumes INVESTORS = PLUNDERERS, which never was the position of Telangana. Plunderers are different, investors are different. Investors come from everywhere, not just Andhra. Last time I checked, Intel, Google, Microsoft and 1000+ other software firms are not owned by Andhras. I'm not sure if the ownership of these changed overnight and Lagadapati+Jagan became the owners of all US based software companies.
CBN 'developing' Hyderabad is just a coincidence. All major cities have significant software exports. All CBN wanted to do was to make some money. Along with Murali Manohar, etc bought huge tracts of land around Madhapur, got some project (HiTech city) and sold lands for X times more. Profit! CBN started a new trend in AP, buy a lot of land in some area, get some project around it, sell. Profit!
Sujai, I was searching for latest developements on Telangana Statehood in internet and came across your blog. I enjoyed reading about Telangana on your blog. I wish you all the best and please keep posting Telangana related info. It is disheartening to know that we Telanganites do not even have our own media. Whatever info we get is filtered thru Andhra news channels.
ReplyDeleteJai Telangana.

ReplyDeletePlzz keep up the good work of enlightening our poor brothers from the other side
@Idler
" Why do you take offense on behalf of others? Have I previously responded to you? "
U dont have to give an explanation to anybody idler...plz we have enough things to do already...if the question posed is genuine we should be replying to that. For people who close their ears and dont know the ABCD's of telangana history we dont have to start from scratch ( Best example: I've see somebody quoting 'Andhra' or 'Andhra Pradesh' is the same...huh...GOD help them with their ignorance )
Isn't this preemptive gesture or attempt to say Free 2010 in your heading? Free 1948. Surrender 1956. Free 2010. . I think this kind of preemptive behavior after the 1st Chidambram announcement that ‘telengana came’ or ‘state is separated ‘claim by telengana politicians over joyed many ppl asking for Telengana and gave surprise to many others.
ReplyDeleteBasically what my point is, now telengana ppl think that they got already got to a point which is much far away. Like you will be having some quantum of difference, if you go to movie with some expectation and when you go in open mind. Instead, this should have been read as ok, lets see we need to put in assembly then what, like that.
Or
Is this kindof mentoring some innocent telengana pll setting some expectation that they got some thing they have no yet got and when they realize they didn’t get they get more disappointed and go crazy.

Understand the difference between public and private property. Sujai can play any music he wants in his own home. You can't question him for not being neutral if he only listens to hindi songs in his own house.
However, if it were a publicly owned radio station and it only plays hindi music, you can ask questions such as, why don't you play telugu songs? Why don't you play Gaddar songs, etc.
This is not a paid subscriber driven website. You are not a paying customer entitled to answers. This is a personal blog. Sujai can write and quote anything that pleases him. That is his right of free speech on his personal property.
You are not entitled to any answers. You have similar rights to quote any news source you want and write your own opinions on your own personal blog.
Sujai is not claiming to run an unbiased neutral media.
Your expectations are facetious and downright hilarious considering media in AP is run by Andhra and is very Andhra biased. You should start by questioning them.
devious who
The answer is devious you. You want the media to be pro-Andhra and Telangana bloggers to be pro-Andhra as well. LOL!
Jai Andhra!!
Jai Andhra the only reason I started looking at this blog is that I thought i'm started to know that telengana is really ignored but after seeing these 'ownership' version, I started getting off from T's claims that they are being being looted. I now believe its some sort of constant echo in their years that developed this. I don't want to waste time. With this kindof attitued they can't get telengana as all including center is not blind. Its a time waste for all, who fight on this.
ReplyDeleteThese culture stuff what sujai team claiming is there in every districts and group of related districts, but when the same ppl come to their town the behave polished. its natural. you can't expect your village english to be honored in NY city.
at the same time, all these T disctrict pll when come to Hyd, if any one expected to be polish in their professional life or what ever, they get hurt. Insted that been taken as posstive and start develop one's delivery they them self developed some kindof guilty or what ever, I don't know it canb e called in pshchology.
gusy be competitive and start towards development, don't give up to any andhras or any indian citizen for that matter, thats how india should march forward, not wasting time in encouraging some false propaganda. best of luck
how many langugaes flourished in andhra cities unlike Hyd? urdu, hindi and english.

The fight for Samaikyandhra is unique in history. It is a fight for rights to exploit! There is nothing valid/just in a 'right to exploit'.
Samaikyandhra! My foot! These guys have attainted perfect segregation of castes in colleges, to the extent of different canteens and they talk of Unity! ROFL!!

Hyd had Charminar, Golconda & other historical places. But do they provide jobs? Jobs are provided by Industries which was boosted major way only after NCN changed it all.
Again, we can not attribute the entire success to CBN. Once India opened the doors for international trade with the economic reforms kicking in 1991, India made in roads in terms of development. The period during which CBN was the CM of AP was a golden period in terms of IT services industry. CBN did a good job in tapping the opportunity. The same was the case with the cities like Chennai, Noida, Bangalore and Pune. If you look at Karantaka, there are considerable number of software exports from Mangalore and Mysore as well.I don't deny CBN's efforts in achieving it. But this was a global phenomenon and CBN was lucky being the CM in that period. Charminar and Golconda do not provide jobs, but they are symbols for the prosperity of the city during that time. Hyderabad was the richest city in the world at one point of time.
I see it this way, the loss for Andhra region is a city which has not benefited from this economic boom that India had seen. I dont want go in to comparison of the loss for Telangana to keep things absolute here.
*We want to be associated with Telangana too. Most of us speak telangana slang in Hyd, we readily mingle with all telanganas
Madhav, If you really meant slang literally, I could take it only as an offense. Why does Telangana language needs to be used only as slang. Telangana is a dialect. Infact, it is so unique and beautiful form of Telugu we consider it more than a dialect, unfortunately the linguists do not have a word for it. Knowingly or unknowingly you seem to have some prejudices.
*I accept that some bias has been there in film industry. We'll correct it soon.
There is a mis connect in our communication. You are totally missing the root cause behind the need of Telangana state. The merger of the state happened on the backdrop of so many promises like this. Those promises have been violated blatantly in front of the naked eyes of Telanganites. I dont want to go through them again. We waited for our righteous share for 50 years. The solutions that you are proposing are the same ones that were promised to us 50 years back when we were merged with Andhra. How are you convincing me that you will keep your promises?
*If someone in family has behaved irresponsibly, we give him chance to improve & correct. Divorce is Western way of dealing with problems.
Lets not get sentimental here, Madhav. These kind of sugar coated sentiments does not help healing the deprived lives of Telangana people. We waited for 50 years hoping that this will work.
*"Telugu jaati manadi, ninduga velugu jaati manadi".
I will of course give a chorus to you when you sing this. This will be the same even after the T state is formed.
@Atul Singh
ReplyDeleteLOL....you've made a very good point in fact. It just suprises me how our bro's on the other side can actually figure out who belongs to what caste given your surname. Beleive me, i was born and brought up in Hyd all my life and never in my life was i able to figure our who belongs to what.
Hyderabad / entire telangana to its credit has been so welcoming to every single religion that exists on earth. To think of the fact that these same people talk of unity is hilarious. HYPOCRISY AT ITS BEST.
@Bix
ReplyDelete" Once India opened the doors for international trade with the economic reforms kicking in 1991, India made in roads in terms of development. "
You should also add the fact that the guy who was instrumental in bringing in these economic reforms was none other than our very own PM of India P.V.Narasimha Rao gaaru from telangana. One of the most highly forgotten prime ministers of Indian history. He is called Chanakya of modern India. Why do these guys keep questioning about what he did to Telangana is something that goes above my head. He is a PM for God's sake...he is head of the entire country and not your local MLA. He did enough but the Gandhi family tries to eliminate the credentials of anybody who does not belong to their family
@ Jai Telangana,
ReplyDeleteWhile PV is an intellectual beyond petty regional or caste politics, he did try to implement the mulki rules once supreme court upheld them in 1972, an year after he became CM. For all his chanakyaneeti, he cudnt survive the subsequent Andhra onslaught. The situation then was similar to what we have seen on Dec 10th. 100-odd Andhra MLAs met in Tirupati and gave a call for an Andhra bandh and a 'no-tax' campaign. PV was forced down and president's rule was imposed.
@Idler
ReplyDeleteWhy do you take offense on behalf of others?
What is the very purpose of this blog then? Aren't u taking offense on behalf of other fellow Telanganites.
For your sake, I'll change my statement "You're mocking some of them". Happy? Look at your very first comment on this comment's section. You equate pro-telangana to sane...Meaning others are insane?
Trying to force Sujai to meet your standards of acceptable behavior? Like forcing the people of Telangana to change their dialect when interacting with Andhra officials?
Don't mislead/exaggerate the discussion. We're talking abt discussions based on objectivity & compassion. My appeal is not to get emotional & tensed abt it, discuss it with mutual respect. Can't we do that?
Britishers never mingled with localites & drained India's wealth to their land. Andhras have readily mingled with localites & most of the investment is poured back to further business here.
Most of those MNCs you mention came here because of peaceful atmosphere & because of NCN's incentives. I was anyway referring to AP-based companies. I'll be obliged if you can name anyone from Telangana who match Lagadapati-Jagan etc. I'm waiting if you can just name them without any explanation!
I'm no supporter of NCN. You may call him whatever you wish. I was merely pointing out the fact that corruption in India is widespread. But few people atleast do some useful work while indulging in corruption. NCN for all his faults did that. Its all very easy to ascribe NCN's contribution as "coincidence", Andhras' contribution as "minimal" after all is over, but its unfair.
@Bix,
ReplyDeleteI apologize if the word "slang" hurt you. We're evolving steadily & insensitive words must be withdrawn from circulation soon.
Having said this, Hindi is spoken in so many states, but then one spoken in UP & mostly around Lucknow is considered the most pristine. So no offense was intended.
Accept that its immature to be emotional here. I withdraw the statement. I'll talk only facts henceforward.
Madhav,
ReplyDeleteHaving said this, Hindi is spoken in so many states, but then one spoken in UP & mostly around Lucknow is considered the most pristine. So no offense was intended.
Is it so?
By whom?
Literary structure of any language is quite different from the spoken behaviour.
Do you know Hindi/Urdu in actuality are considered as same(structurally and grammatically)?
Urdu was always considered to be more pristine because of its widespread usage in royal courts where as hindi was considered to be more natural(prakritic).
Even the language spoken in todays hindi films is mixture of both(Urdu essentially has more persian influence where as hindi has sanskritic) where as most of the song lyrics are drafted in Urdu. However no one argues today that Urdu is more pristine.
Your argument best fits the andhra supremacist theory and nothing else.
That is big reason in support of separate telangana
Most of those MNCs you mention came here because of peaceful atmosphere & because of NCN's incentives. I was anyway referring to AP-based companies. I'll be obliged if you can name anyone from Telangana who match Lagadapati-Jagan etc. I'm waiting if you can just name them without any explanation!
ReplyDeleteIncentive were laid down by and for the andhra businessman who comfortably neglectes the rules and laws of the land. Who else can represent such corrupt business men who grabbed govt. lands(to be exact telangana public lands) for cheap in the name of Industry development and then turning them into reality ventures?
Your duo are the epitonme of land grabbing and corruption?
Sravan: "Even the language spoken in todays hindi films is mixture of both(Urdu essentially has more persian influence where as hindi has sanskritic) where as most of the song lyrics are drafted in Urdu. However no one argues today that Urdu is more pristine.

How will separate state help the cause of Telangana language/ accent?
Are you going to do 'language engineering' on public once T state is formed? Force on public what is acceptable or official? Is separation the only solution for YOU to feel comfortable with YOUR baani?
Kaloji befittingly responded to the sneering attitude of the literary circles of Andhra by showing that if Andhra writers or poets cannot appreciate the good works of Telangana writers, it is their loss and not that of Telangana writers.
We need some role models like talk show hosts or comedians who can put things in perspective with some sense of humour. Someone who can say "Vachindanna vachadanna varala Telugu okatenanna". Unfortunately the only role models we have are the Babus and JuBabus of movie industry.
Manohara,
ReplyDeleteTelangana doesn't force anyone. We only oppose those who force us to do things we don't like.
.. which is very unlike the Andhras ..
Thanks Idler, but still you did not answer my questions.

I also equate pro-Andhra to being sane. I am as much a Jai Andhra guy as a Jai Telangana guy.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time understanding the "Samaikyandhra" movement. In what way are we United????
Andhras have readily mingled with localites
There is no endogamy between Andhra and Telangana people. Andhra people marry their own and Telangana their own.
most of the investment is poured back to further business here.
Of course. Its natural. People invest where they are. I would not go and buy a house in Nigeria if I'm in New Zealand.
peaceful atmosphere & because of NCN's incentives
All of India has peaceful atmosphere with the exception of J&K. NCNs incentives are geared towards himself.
STPI was created in 1991 to create tax incentives to stimulate India’s then-fledgling software export industry. You may have a case if Hyderabad grew in software at the expense of other cities. But we find Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai and Gurgoan area equally.
What is more important to understand here is: Hyderabad was a much cheaper city until 2000. It was at least 10 times cheaper. Therefore, people can be paid lower wages here. Add to it the lakhs of people getting engineering degrees from AP, TN, Maharashtra, Karnataka.
I'll be obliged if you can name anyone from Telangana who match Lagadapati-Jagan etc.
You mean land grabbers and criminals. I'm afraid there is no one in Telangana to match their scale.
Y Samuel Jagan Reddy
On Lagadapati and his scams -- in another post.
But few people atleast do some useful work while indulging in corruption. NCN for all his faults did that.
That is correct. While NCN can be appreciated for that, subsequent Congress Govt has misused the way NCN made money, and are now outright grabbing lands from poor people in the name of SEZs and many projects. He has started a trend, which has gone down a slippery slope.

ReplyDeleteManohar,
ReplyDeleteRead my post again.
Andhras' contribution as "minimal" after all is over, but its unfair.
ReplyDeleteCBN is not Andhra but Rayalaseema.
Also, emi leni daggara, amudam chettu maha vruksham. NCNs contributions look significant coz the city was neglected for so many decades. It was so totally neglected that it had the worst roads with potholes. I admit that CBN gave good roads to Hyd. For a city the size of Hyd, there is no mass transport. City has grown 3 times, nothing was done for close to 4.5 decades to enhance the capacity. If a person beats his wife every day for 45 years and only beats her on alternate days after, I don't call it improvement. Wife maybe happy that the frequency of beating has decreased, but its not much development, is it?
I will readily admit that Andhras have added Buddha vigraham in Hussein Sagar.
If you must compare, compare CBN to Nizam and see both their contributions to Hyd. Who built all the buildings (which the Andhra govt has just taken over), the water supply artificial lakes with a flood management system, railways, airways, 11% spending on education (British/Indian Govt was spending 6 crore on all of India vs Nizam spending 1 crore on education)
Nizam had many flaws, but what he did to Hyderabad, the infrastructure built -- would definitely shame the Andhra leaders of the past 6 decades.
But, the thing is this. We don't like Nizam, we don't like CBN, we don't like anyone ruling us. We want freedom to pursue what we want our own way.
In doing this, Andhra will be free as well, will no longer carry the White Mans Burden of civilizing Telangana! You are free too!!
Madhav,
ReplyDeleteOn the Andhra's beloved leader Lagadapati:
His 7200 Core illegal Lanco Hills Real Estate Project o the brink of collapse
· Cheated AP Public to the tune of 1000 crores through Lanco Kondaplli Power
· Involved in illegal Hawala transfers. Lanco MD arrested recently with Hawala Money
· Involved in mega insurance scam running in to several crores . Siphoned 1.53 Crores fraudulently from Basara IIT Project and also from TTD Vedic University project.
· Filed false affidavit regarding number of children during the election
· Lanco is involved in litigations with almost all the state governments where it has projects. It was thrown out of some project for fraud.
Gopal alias Lanco Raj Gopal is a 45 year old industrialist turned Politician known for his rabid hatred towards Telangana Statehood movement. There is some background behind his hatred towards Telangana.
Lagadapati bought 108 acres of land at Manikonda in Hyderabad from government of AP to develop an it SEZ. Once the government allotted him the land , he has limited the IT SEZ, to less than 1/4th of the total land and converted this land into a real estate venture named Lanco Hills . Estimated at Rs.7,200 Crores, Lanco Hills is touted as the one of the largest real estate ventures in India.
Raj Gopal is claiming all kinds of exemption from Government under the SEZ act for his real-eastate business. He is duping the state and central government by conducting his business under the “LANCO Hills Technology Park Pvt Ltd”. The state and central government already lost crores of rupees by waiving stamp duty and all kinds of taxes for this real-estate venture.
Lanco also kept changing its company names to perpetuate this real-estate fraud. When it began, the company was called Lanco Technologies Private Limited . it was subsequently changed to “Lanco Technology park private Limited” on June 7, 2005, to Lanco Mantri Technology park Privated Limited”. On November 24, 2005 and further to “Lanco Hills Technology park Private Limited “on July 6, 2006. As soon as construction started at Lanco Hills ,news broke out that this land belonged to Hussain Sha Wali Dargha under wakf Board.
Wakaf Board is equivalent to the Endowment department which takes care of Hindu Temple lands. This Minority Institution has thousand of acres of lands around Hyderabad.
The Joint Parliament committee appointed on Wakf land had last year found that of 1,600 acres prime wakf Land in Manikondad, 829.35acres were encroached by the government, which sold the same to several companies including Lanco Hills.
Following a write petition, the Andhra Pradesh State high court had issued a stay 2007 on Construction at Lanco Hills. As Raj gopal is an MP and had several connections in the right places, he managed to get the stay evicted. He also managed to stop the Wakf Board from approaching the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, the real-estate bubble in Hyderabad burst and buyers started dropping off Lanco Hills apartment like hot potatoes . When Lanco went for public issue, it promised to build 18.5 millions sq ft in Lanco Hills. As soon as booking began , Lanco Hills had reported bookings of 4 millions sq ft. In December 2008, it admitted that bookings were down to 2 millions sq ft. Industry insiders say that the current booking are much less than even that.
Already reeling under a severe recession, the Telangana state announcement from Chidambaram rattled Lanco Raj Gopal severely . It is all most certain that his real –estate empire will collapse like a pack of cards if Telangana state is formed .Apart from financial losses, Raj Gopal fear that newly formed government will initiate action against him for severe irregularities in the Lanco Hills Project which include evading taxes under the SEZ act.
And stop that from happening Lagadapati is fuelling the United Andhra Pradesh agitation by engineering resignations of MLA and MPs and also providing monetary support to the agitation in coastal Andhra.

Cud u please tell me this whole 'pristine' philosophy? ur idea is equivalent to what Hitler propagated abt Aryan's race. we need not look any further to see The result of this propaganda -"I'll be obliged if you can name anyone from Telangana who match Lagadapati-Jagan etc" why buddy???? u think telanganites dont have brains or that andhrites have a dozens of those!? wats ur point? and shud i also believe someone who can read and write like u does not know how Jagan babu built his 3500 crore media empire overnight?

ReplyDeleteHow will separate state help the cause of Telangana language/ accent?
Are you going to do 'language engineering' on public once T state is formed? Is separation the only solution for YOU to feel comfortable with YOUR baani?
After all these discussions you still have a wrong perception about the cause of telangana.
For godsake, I wasn't arguing about the development of language or slang. Nor am I averse to say one telugu.
I would still say 'our telugu' even after the separation of the states.
I was just resounding the majority andhra peoples opinion about their slang of telugu to be pure and superior compared to telangana telugu. That was evident from your post which I was actually focussing on.
And this supremacist attitude divulges in other realms too and the false notion of 'Andhra peoples burden vis-a-vis Whiteman's burden'
@ Manohar,

If u took the pain to go thru the literature available online abt the expolitation of Telangana, u wud find an equivalent to dadabhai naoroji's works which exposed the drain of wealth from India to Britain! Then form an opinion and come back here. We will discuss.
@ Amar & Sravan,
ReplyDeleteI was merely saying what textbooks have taught us all the time. When I learnt Hindi too, I was told that the one used in Mumbai is mixture, whereas a certain aspect of speaking as in UP is right.
You too would have read the same textbooks na? Weren't they saying this? Kindly clarify?
I didn't know people take this as an offense. In this particular aspect, I apologize unconditionally. I had no knowledge of any contrary perception in this case & hence I used it. Nobody happened to say otherwise all these years.
Anyway, if its hurting sentiments (I never knew this), then I readily accept my ignorance & apologize.
Madhav,
ReplyDeleteYou need not apologize for us.
I don't think my text books ever said that Hindi in UP around luclnow is pristine.
If at all any such comparison is made, it is in our history text books that say Urdu and Sanskrit once enjoyed royal treatment.
You should understand that it is history and not present.
Well, as I told you our language textbooks reflect only literary structure of the language. In practicality it differs a lot from spoken forms whether it is andhra telugu or telangana telugu.
You might have missed this very much.
Madhav,
ReplyDeleteBut the question you posed
How will separate state help the cause of Telangana language/ accent?
is worth to be mentioned here.
Do you think people are any concerned about development of language. Language evolves naturally. We cannot say it is developed or under developed.
It is only subjective perception.
As long as we can verse equally with fellow speaker, all languages today are well developed.
However they continue to evolve assimilating new vocabulary from the contemporary societal changes. Like computer in telugu is same as computer in english. Only we adopted it for a better alternative in telugu.
Dear Madhav,
ReplyDeleteSardarjis are made fun of everywhere, but this is not to degrade them
You are trying to brush-off the cultural violence inflicted on Telangana.
Sardarji's may be at the receiving end of most jokes -- but they do have their own movies, songs, dances, albums and in most popular movies they are shown as soldiers, warriors and heroes.
You should pay more attention to Telugu films. There are 250+ movies made every year. Probably 10 - 20,000 movies in telugu. In how many of the movies hero speaks telangana accent?
And if it not pristine or acceptable -- how is that almost all villians and most buffoons speak Telangana?
And those buffoons who imitate telangana accent are given Nandi awards?
Why is it that a language spoken by 3.5 crore people is unacceptable?
You are conditioned to believe that Andhras are superior in every which way and it shows. Even you (the most reasonable andhra person to ever comment on this blog!) are unable to discern or come out of the supremacist mode.
You somehow believe that Lagadapati and Y Samuel Jagan are BETTER just because they are from Andhra/Seema, while the true picture is entirely opposite.
And you also believe that Andhra accent is more pristine and needs to be forced on people.
In the same process, Telangana people are being conditioned the opposite way. Read some telugu school textbooks. What Andhra speaks becomes prakruti (correct) and what we speak becomes vikruthi.
(continued ...)
ReplyDeleteYou should think more deeply. What is going on here? Why do you instinctively feel everyone from Andhra is superior? Regardless of the fact that the beacons of Andhra that you pointed out are some the most corrupt, vilest people on earth.
Its not about making fun of slangs - as you made it seem by bringing up Srikakulam/E.Godavari. Fun about slangs is limited (people can always take a joke about themselves), but EXCLUSIVELY making the people who speak a dialect villians and buffoons is diabolical.
It is making a stereotype (caricature) of an entire people - sending subliminal messages to Andhras that they are superior (as you so believe now - and can only acknowledge when others, Amar, Shravan, etc point it out to you).
When you start believing you are superior, it becomes acceptable to inflict all kinds of violence. If you don't realize this: read about Germany and Japan -- they believed so too. Far more importantly, they were made to believe that they were superior by the conditioning. The difference is only of degree, not of kind.
Look around, my dear friend. Look around! All your Andhra commentors -- you will be able to *smell* their superiority conditioning. Most of them don't know it (coz they didn't do it intentionally, it was conditioned in), they don't believe it and deny it (in denial). Of all (the ones that I've looked at) the Andhra commentors, you have the subtlest superioity syndrome. You don't know it, but you realize it once pointed out. And what makes you an excellent commentor is -- when pointed out, you readily acknowledge your mistake.
This conditioning makes it acceptable to inflict all kinds of violence. The conditioning process makes you not to respect the people of Telangana at par. When you don't have that respect, you will
(1) take away their civil liberties (imagine 370 people shot dead by Govt!),
read this human rights report Police killings and rural violence in Andhra Pradesh
(2) take away their resources - money, water, coal, anything
(3) don't think they deserve to rule themselves (because it is better to be ruled by someone superior, either lagadapati or jagan)
You must read more widely.
ReplyDeleteAfter 9/11 How did Govt of America convince Americans that Iraq is an enemy and declare war on it when Taliban is in Afghanistan?
Also, lookup cultural violences in history. Ireland, England; Japan & China and tons of others.
People are conditioned many ways by the Govts based on their agenda.
No population is safe from conditioning. Govts create and perpetuate lies. Media is mostly dumbasses and who will do as Govt says, and stuff that attracts eyeballs. Everyone is conditioned. Question everything the govt and media does (start from school textbooks) and sniff out the conditioning.
Madhav,
ReplyDeleteYou brush-off violence on Telangana culture by pointing out there are lots of Sardarji jokes.
These Sardarji jokes started appearing around 1980s. Do you know what happened during that time? Indian state was killing off Sikhs left, right and center.
From 1984-1993 the Indian Government killed tens of thousands of innocent Sikhs in fake encounters.
These jokes made it ok for the govt to do away with civil liberties and how people perceive Sikhs (it is ok to persecute Sikhs, they are inferior anyways!)
@Madhav
ReplyDelete" How will separate state help the cause of Telangana language/ accent? "
Indians crave for 2 things in their life - Cricket and Cinema. Cinema is like a staple cultural diet and has the power of influencing many a minds. Through this medium we beleive by having a separate state we can have films that show telangana accent as a variation of Telugu language and not be sidelined for all wrong reasons like its being done right now in the present telugu films. Considering the fact that the number of telugu films being produced are the highest in number we think its being utilized wrongly for projecting telangana
guys the first impression after i went though the link is that all the data is accurate and felt very much sympathized with telengana ppl but as i go deeper i found much data, presentations etcs are biased towards Telengana. So, at first instance you will also get sympathy but as you go deeper you discover your self all its not true and find many silly things, they ask telengana, trust me, eg one says we have a slang, dress etc we lost or Andhra ppl look down at, which is true in every village and the slanga/dress code varies from their towns next to them (whether its ur village's town, district, hyd, or New York citi, you can't speak your village slang English in NY).
ReplyDeleteAt the same time there are facts, over all i felt its
under development,
lack of competitive spirit,
lack of tools to develop (schools, education)
lack of positive mind set and kayos environment (if some one looks at ill at language/dress, instead of depressing, env/elders/professors/educated should encourage and give +ve suggestions instead )
lack of british's forced english (andhra, rayalasems was under britsh rule so, they got early English, Telenaga was under Navab so, was urdu/hindi is more than English)
lack of telenga's leaders to ask/demand/ show true attitude to develop their region and to reduce the eating as its obvious so far the eating% is almost 100% if not all these years there should have been some development. (this eating is there in all regions my be % could be different).
lack of showing proper attitude on the previous resolutions/agreements on this disputes.
Over all:
The above lacks points if improved (many more ofcourse) will make sepearate telengana topic diluted to zero
other wise,
I thing Telenga is on hold and will not be seperated in any near feature ( may be 1, 2,4,5, 10, 100, infiit yrs), even after that if it had to happen then,
HYD will be take by center as UT(like old story two quarrel on one dosa, judge tries to eat the diffence to give equal amount to each of them but he never cuts equal at the end, both will have nothing after several tries) and Telengana, Andhra (&/or),R has to create of their own each.
I don't have time for another 100+years, better all of us(A,R,T) focus on individual self development and contribute all regions to develop.
Before some one says, i'm from rich, vijawada, east, west godavari. I'm from NorthCostal AP, just near to mandasa(fully naxal area). Based on the accent, if ppl start dividng indaa, it may be 3000+ or 10000+states. Guys come out of this attitued and focus on development.

Madhav: one what means you say Sikhs are inferior. STOP telling lies... if they are not there around border u don't have voice to raise. I think if based on religion if you they belong to one of most self respected living ppl across the globe, they you won't see much of them begging they work and earn. If ppl liek this say jokes they take it easy and focus much on their self reliance, thats is want you guys need in T instead of -ve guyding ppl.

I would strongly urge you to enroll in a nearby school. The sooner the better!
I don’t think if any one in India is not proud of PV he is one of our very few best PM if not the best, some congress politicians to gain mailage with Madam, they don’t want to acknowledge. But please don’t claim him for –ve things, instead be posstive and more proud that he is from T region.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the situation, I’m not sure if that was same situation it is now. I’m sure what ever he would have done, is towards all ppl improvement, which means if he is with mulki it was right at that time. The reason believe that was he is he see the broader interest and long term. (By the way, I’m not congress, my family actually for ages in TDP and I tend to like LoakSatta views, not in any one though and I’m from A region).
Hats off PV garu.

I agree, Atul Singh, I was also deeply surprised that such cast feeling dose really exit until I came to study in Bapatla Engg college (kamma’s domination) and I belong to north costal of AP just next to orissa. But that has not stopped me to develop or any attribute not to think that we are all together one big telugu family. It just some localites taking some advantage. For that matter, are you not, I know many of from T region don’t want separate T but I don’t see any one (enven in HYD metor) could come on TV to say so.
ReplyDeleteAt the same time, none from our region, went back to srikakulam dist, and started any ghosha or agitation(saying that my problem is 50yr old), instead next year some one comes from my dist, have him educated and not to get surprised and help in concentrate on the education because after couple of months these all things are not matter and over a period of time with proper prosperity from our regions, this seggration will vanish ( wheather its cast or region). We need to constantly/develop/change the system to protect from advantaged ppl/region. For this you want separate change? Unless the rulers attitude in both the regions, nothing changes, so, lets focus in individual goal and not encourage the poor students to deviate from their studies.
Irrespective of what ever, I STRONGLY APPRECIATE T region ppl for RESPONDING and have the govt reply back, what ever +/-, it actually showed the public power. Actually we should, have asked this kind of thing for the anti corruption bill that Jeyaprakash narayan put in our assembly. And ask for A, R ppl to support the same. If this comes, irrespective of what region, all politicians get corrected so, we get right pats as time passes. We don’t have leaders so, we are stuck with these politicians so, only option is to have them corrected and introduce a correct system that we get better politicians (not the bad)
Atul Singh said... Samaikyandhra! My foot! These guys have attainted perfect segregation of castes in colleges, to the extent of different canteens and they talk of Unity! ROFL!!
sravan and annon.. Gusy, don’t forget the reason behind the languages, its just based on the rulers. Nizam is want to collect taxes so he promoted urdu/hindi in his region. I don’t think that sort of impotance given for english, that explains the english of KK or hindi of VH. On the other hand, Andhra, Rayalaseems was under british, he prompted english for his communication, military employment etc.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand it damaged our 2K+/- native Telugu language in all regions. nothing much the credit goes to local ppl, it’s the rulers enforced. This early start of english, actually helped A, R regions later.
it was a delight to watch the candle-lit OU campus on Dec 31st nigh swinging in Telangana fervour ..and the Jan 3rd meeting is historic..
ReplyDeleteall the peaceful protests taking place all across Telangana need to be compiled in form of photographs
and let's call ourselves Telanganites.. sounds better than Telanganas :)
Lets kill all Andhra fuckers living in Telangana and get back our land. These talks and meetings are a waste of time.
ReplyDeleteFuck all Andhras.
